McLachlan and Hocking must resign!

Yep, lets fire all the smart, experienced people willing to contribute to the public good and give the job to a keyboard warrior type on a footy forum.

just so we are clear.

I write all this crap for free.

These great champions of public good, get about $10 grand a week, often not commensurate with smarts, experience or integrity.

they can root the photocopying girl, and still take a bonus home to the wife and kids.

Yep this is all about the money.
Key question is who is Gil answerable to?
Is it the AFL commission? Surely he’s ultimately accountable for the ‘state of the game’?
He’s made a lot of poor decisions in recent times.

The thing about Goose McLachlan is that he is incompetent on top of being all about the money. At least Demetriou was competent.

Hard pressed finding anyone smart or with appropriate experience at the AFL.

We get that you're happy with the state of the game and the direction it is heading. ::) Further rule changes and introducing mandatory lower financial caps and coaching limitations to clubs in order to nobble a competition is ludicrous and self-defeating.

Those deciding upon these issues are so very conflicted by self interest and monetary gain. Demetriou's little puppet looms larger than his monstrous puppet master.

Public good? With the salaries they are getting the "public good" tag doesn't belong anywhere near them.

More laughable is the extent they go to look after their mates. Friday nights full of Carlton matches in a failed premature attempt to help their mate Lethlean who they didn't want to sack but felt they had too. Any excuse the AFL bring out as to why this was unavoidable / a quirk of the draw is *smile* because in 2017 they quite easily stripped us of all Friday night matches because of one bad season.

To exclude Richmond from the Yarra Park redevelopment smacks of favoritism to the extreme. That's not acting for the "Public Good".

Trying to keep us away from AFLW despite having given us a provisional licence was again playing favorites. Where is the "Public Good" in that?

Despite claiming Tasmania would be the next place for an AFL team previously, the AFL have slaughtered footy in Tasmania just so they can better control it. "Public Good" ? *smile* laughable.

The list goes on and on. If the AFL was a publicly listed company the current exec would struggle to survive the next AGM if they'd survived that long.

obviously agree with all that Baloo

But the most tragic part of it, is this last bit is untrue. They would take home a monster 8 figure bonus

Of the top 100 ASX listed companies, only 2 (two) CEO's didnt take home at least a 7 figure bonus in the last financial year.

and those 2 are probably on a super yacht in the Cayman Island as we write.

Nothing wrong with that.

The trial they had today was a failure for him and his mates.

Im surprised! Thought that they could fix the game up! :spin

Last two days has made them look like rank amateurs!

Baloo again well written.

The trial they had today was a failure for him and his mates.

they better think of some new rules to fix the new problems.

Now GM says trials in live games this season unlikely. You cannot make this crap up. He's spinning it as if he's responsive to feedback, rather than his idea being astronomically dumb.

Deliberate out of bounds
5 metre *smile* ptotected zone
Ruck nominations thers 3 shocking rules
That should be given the arse
Do a survey gill on these see how many fans like them
Yeh exactly what the game needs more changes
And i thought we couldnt get a worse ceo than vlad f.md.

All these rule changes have sucked. The only rule change I have liked in recent history was the not diving in front of players legs one. The umpires sometimes interpret this too tough, but it has stopped players just cannoning themselves along the ground while another player is running towards that loose ball, taking their legs out. It also encourages players to try and keep their feet at all times.

I can't think of any other good rule change other than this.

Exactly Snakey.

Surprise surprise.

On AW today did an about face, stating he is listening to the fans and others.

Trials may not happen now. ( 3 games that they were looking at later this year ).

Hope all coaches ( obviously the Geelong love fest ones nes, danger, whately, blight & hocking ) and coffee with Gill Clarkson won't but if they continue their negative take on the trials , they may veto this and not go ahead.

Richmond, Collingwood, Essendon, Carlton, West Coast and Adelaide just need to say they wont play under such ridiculous rules.

Geelong and Hawks to a lesser extent.

The Commission will give in, because those clubs are where the big $$$ are.

Yes i know it wont happen.

Too much effort

Just get the Melbourne FC to put a complaint to AFLPA that the rules will be too hard for them.

Problem solved.

They already have a request in for finals that the games are played as touch footy as they don't want to wilt under pressure again.

Who did the coverage of the Suns V Blues, was it Seven or Fox? There were only 2 goals in the 2nd quarter and 3 in the last. That wouldn't make Channel 7 happy if it was them that did the coverage. The Suns in another low scoring game, hmmm perhaps the AFL should take the wrap for the low scoring games.
