Maurice Rioli Jnr

I'm pretty sure that he is contracted for next year ( someone will confirm) and given that he is the only chance he has is to get really fit and we have to play him at a VFL level as a midfielder
He has that initial 10-15 metre burst of pace that we have seen works well in that role at the VFL level

Was to post the same again but beat me Sin.

Forget him as a ‘forward pressure’ player in no man’s land.

Get him super fit, strong and improve his skills during this off season into the next pre season and train with the:

MIDFIELD

Experiment is over!

Yep, we,re crying out for some midfield pace, he’s been tried as the pressure small forward and it hasn’t worked.

And he was playing midfield in the VFL and building and then he gets into the AFL side and back as that small forward.

I would have rested Hopper and used MRJ as part of the midfield rotations.

Gets him in the game and his hands on the ball.

Just my opinion.

We've done him a disservice playing him in the firsts the past couple games when he was finding good form in the vfl midfield.

Can’t believe I’m saying this about a Rioli , however I think his biggest issue is his not a footballer

He lacks confidence. you can see it clearly, he gets to the ball then freezes. He needs to be retrained to see ball, get ball, kick ball...play on instict. looks like they have tried to program him into something he is not.

I think his best work is in tight situations when he doesn't have time to think.

I had his ceiling around the Jake King mark, that looks miles off, it's last chance saloon next year.

So this. He was gaining confidence playing as pure midfielder in the VFL. Even won us the game. But then we throw him back in the seniors to and play him in the most unforgiving role.

This one is back on the coaches. We have mismanaged his development. All due to not having any capable small forwards on our list.
