Re: Welcome Matthew McDonough at pick 42

The NO MADONNA FARCE just got more farcical! :brickwall

Re: Welcome Matthew McDonough at pick 42

They obviously see something we don't not even emergency

Re: Welcome Matthew McDonough at pick 42

Don't know why he isn't given a go. Is it his body shape? Is he not quick enough?

We're crying out for a small forward who can pitch hit in the middle - why don't we try him for a decent run 3-4 weeks.

Re: Welcome Matthew McDonough at pick 42

must have farted in the elevator with Hardwick in it.

Better have been a good one if it's going to cost him the season. Nice ripe aromatic one with the added benefit of being silent n sneaky.

Playing a hard n experienced Sydaknee on the cramped SCG mid season, it's probably a game where the coach thinks he needs hard bodied n hard headed experience rather than replacing a couple of young kids with another bunch of young kids.
We've still got a few games we must win before we can breathe easy on a finals berth, might not be the wisest idea to risk it all on the flakiness of a bunch of young inexperienced physically under developed kids
We've already been forced through injury to push games into a bunch of youngsters which will stand them in good stead for future years, but the second half of the season will even cause seniors in their prime to creak n groan at the workload n grind.

Wouldn't mind seeing Madonna get some senior game time at all, he's been pretty decent at magoos level, can certainly understand the selection of mature bodies n hope their ready to fully impact the game, certain we're gunna need it.

Either that or he's headed elsewhere.

Or injured? It just doesn't add up otherwise. Gordon's form in the ressies has been borderline putrid. McDonough is a natural footballer. Can play inside. Hits the scoreboard. Not afraid to tackle and actually gets to a lot of contests for someone with supposed mud for guts.

Morris has been dropped, but selection makes even less sense than usual. Only this selection committee is capable of bending the laws of logic like that.

Your argument went out the door with the selection of Gordon.

Re: Welcome Matthew McDonough at pick 42

Why sign the kid for an extra 12 months and then leave him rot in the magoos makes no sense. has to be more to his non selection than meets the eye

Ummmmm, probably a fine line but he'd still be a bit stronger bodied and football experienced than either Menadue or Ellis. Perhaps as a straight replacement for Stevie he might be more likely to kick us a goal or two.

Re: Welcome Matthew McDonough at pick 42

Only explanation that makes sense is he's put the hard word on Dimmas missus at some point

Re: Welcome Matthew McDonough at pick 42

Just checked. He's not even an emergency. Dea, Menadue and Morris are the emergencies. Doesn't even get rewarded for his good game with a token emergency naming.

Must have been one bad fart

Re: Welcome Matthew McDonough at pick 42

Yeah nah, he's done.

Maybe the most misused player of the Hardwick era.

Re: Welcome Matthew McDonough at pick 42

Gordon and Newman in front of McDonough is a joke based on consistent form this year.

Or maybe the coach's and match committee dont think he is the player to deliver what they require to beat the swans!

Couldn't agree more. *smile* Hardwick.

Re: Welcome Matthew McDonough at pick 42

best i can come up with.
