I've always had time for him but he needed to go back and work on his tank (read 'possession count') and defensive efforts.
He has had plenty time in the VFL to improve these things.
Make no mistake, his time is now.

If Dimma and co-selectors are looking to the future then it must overlook any temptation to pick Newman. Newman's days are done. Loyal and admirable servant aside, he is no longer the future.
Would really like to see McDonough given a decent crack at senior level with a role in the forward line. He may not be a world-beater, yet i do sense he could provide a dynamic that the Tigers lack at times, particularly if he is given the opportunity to settle into the team.

Please Dimma give this kid an opportunity in the seniors I really believe Matt has the ability to become a really good HFF with the ability to go in the midfield and have an impact. HE JUST NEEDS A FAIR GO!!!!!!
