Personally I hope he reflects on this and tweaks his behaviour a bit on-field.

By all reports he is a very nice young man but he plays footy like a jerk. Actually the way he plays footy is fine but he acts like a jerk on the field the rest of the time, and what you see is just the surface of that.

I wonder if as a young leader with not much support at the Gold Coast if he started this persona and now it has stuck. I hope he turns it around so he can be rightfully respected as a footballer and not seen as a contemptible figure by his peers.

I’ve always thought trying to bustle and bump someone before play (or off the ball) is just pointless machismo. Direct your toughness on the opposition (and the ball) during play. That’s showing toughness. Not this bumpy shoulders crap.


But I also still think fining him was a *smile* decision.

As you are well aware it’s a bloody competitive sport. Every edge you can get you get it. Nothing Lynch has done is outside of the rules. The tap on the head has been blown right out of proportion.
It’s a funny world we live in. We get ourselves in a spin about what Lynch did but joke and laugh about sledging which can cut far deeper to an individual.
Benny Hill would have been proud of big Tom.

Lynch is struggling to hit the logos to take contested marks. Reckon his knee is bothering him as he's struggling to run and jump. His goals are coming from his strong body work close to goal and he's getting a few crumbing goals. With Jack in decline and Soldo unable to catch a cold we lack contested marking around the ground.

Busted a lot of packs and got his hands on the ball but didn't clunk them.

I thought the only difference between he and Dixon was in their hands.

It would be handy if the umpires paid chopping the arms.
We absolutely get smashed in our forward line.
Unless its obvious they refuse to pay anything and those types of game's you need a even playing field.
You cant play a qtr of football and only get 1 free kick when the opppstion has got 8.
It's ridiculous.
We use to have 1 or 2 umpires that would crucify us now we have all of them doing it.

Not easy playing as a key forward when the ball only goes inside 20 odd times. Plus under pressure given complete lack of clearances. Our issues are midfield clearance & contested ball. Time to fix the real problems.
