Luke McGuane

Attack is defense under dimma.

With mcguane and king, you have two blokes who'd rather spread your face over the advertising hoardings than cut you an even break.

These guys are paid to be blunt instruments and it suits dimmas plan to play the game on an auskick sized footy oval -- our forward 50.

These guys should see us into our first finals campaign, but won't be around next year.

From the stinking larvae comes the purest silk, when free agents and developing recruits -- proper forwards -- tread a battlefield where the hard work's been done.

Kingy, our 2014 forward coach, will be a rugged taskmaster.
Wait, what?

If it rains I would definitely play Luke up forward. Provides good forward pressure & is a strong mark. Kicks it straight in the rain too importantly.
His errors will also be less noticeable in the wet. ;D

I agree, but would go further.

If the conditions are wet, his versatility would be very useful as well. Poor conditions will make him a useful defender if needed as well. You want guys who will go hard all game first and foremost, and McGuane will give you that.

NO! He is allowed back in the side on the condition that he is not allowed in the backline. Add McGuane in defence, plus the new sliding rules, plus the holding the ball interpretation, plus the head high rule, plus the WET and slippery conditions, and it equals 283 free kicks against directly in front of goal. In the first quarter.

Pity we don't have two of him, one forward and one back.

JUST KEEP HIM OUT OF THE BACKLINE FFS.

Can someone please tell me what the hell this club sees in this bloke????????????????

Fair dinkum if we lose tomorrow night and he has done the usual drop easy marks, give away multiple free kicks and miss easy *smile* goals.........I will go ape sh1t!!!!!!

It's his first game against quality opposition in a game that will be high pressure and that actually means something for almost 2 years.

Usual things? Marking is his strength and I haven't seen him miss too many easy shots!

You didnt see the link ToO put up of some of Lukeys finest work V Freo last year? I think it had the Benny Hill music and all!

X2

His shootiing has been dead-eye......his hands have been sure......and he is crashing and bashing packs.

He is CLEARLY the best option (currently) for our third tall.

If someone else wants to take his spot then they only have to play better than he is.....and at the moment no-one else is even close.

You know what I am going to support McGuane this year and in a poll I named him as our most improved player for the year. I can see him playing forward and kicking 30 goals and pinch hitting down back. So therefore I will support him.

::) dios mio, people love to zone in on this, ignoring the fact that Luke's marking, pressure and set shot kicking has actually been good.

Howabout that Cotchin dud, remember that time he kicked it straight to the opposition in the defensive 50 to lose us the game? What a dud ::)

We just need him to do what he does best tonight: compete and compete a little bit more. If he can clunk a few marks in the forward 50 and just execute (big if) in front of goal he really should have a decent year.

i like him in the foward line..you know he will always give a massive contest..he will chase and tackle and provide harrasment and enough of a headache to the opposition to warrant his spot...he will take a few marks and if he can kick a couple of goals a game itll be a bonus...if vickery can do the same..as well as releive ivan then we a very very goog chance for finals..70 odd goals between this year them would be massive
