Luke McGuane

McGun !

He's very much like a gun to the team. You hope you never need it, never have to take it out. But if you find yourself in a situation where you need one, you'll be glad you have a McGun lying around.

Shooting blanks.

i Thought the suggestion that we are in contract talks with Derrickx was more concerning.

Can't see who else we are going to delist.

I'd give Derickx more time and delist Gus who's proven nothing.

It's no joking matter. This bloke is THE ultimate list clogger.

Little wonder we are what we are.

I'd delist both and start afresh.

Delisting Browne only leaves Derickx as the 200cm who could work alongside Ivan. Gus is gone and should be delisted or just used at Coburg for back up to injuries.

I think it's silly to bag Derickx just for the GC stuff up. I'd give him time to develop in the 1sts with Ivan if we can't find anyone else to ruck for now.

Yeah there are 5 to 6 spots currently open. There is talk Chaplin knights and Thomas (Port) are coming.
Tuck lids mAric and Foley have been signed; Newman might become a rookie;Riewoldt Edwards Grigg houli Morris rance should be right to stay. then there is king & Jackson, & Post.
Mcguane white Derickx are considering offers.
Graham will go. Heard Nahas might be off. Surely we wont chop any draftees we got in the last few years.
Interesting times.

I think as a defender Muscles is finished with us. He just doesn't get played there any more. The coach has spoken.

So if we're keeping him it can only be as a pinch-hitting forward. He did have a few hilarious moments in the role but provided some energy. Something I suppose.

This is what I think is happening - why we're keeping Lace-out - I think it's about a model of list management. I think we want to moderate the change to our list.

*But we should get rid of all the list cloggers now and get ten new players.* That's not the model. One of the trends that will emerge (triumph short term) in list management due to free agency, among other things, is that fewer 18yos will be drafted to Richmond.

Anybody who watched Sydney tonight saw passages of ball movement that can only be developed through practice, experience, skill and intelligence. *Why keep McGuane then? He can't move the ball with any of that.* Because that won't be his job. He gets the job the dumb guys get - get ball, kick between big white sticks. *He can't even do that.*

He can at Coburg. And he can train. And maybe improve and be a back up. (In the event of a miracel he may even become adequate at it.) And he can move on in two years when he's 27 if it all turns to *smile* as it almost certainly will.

*But McGuane has to go. He is hilariously useless.* Well maybe we need to get rid of another quality that permeates the lower levels of our list first - timid. Addam Maric anyone?

When an 18yo walks into Richmond we have a few duds but we don't tolerate timid. The newb can pass them for skill but must embrace the code of self sacrifice.

See, we had to change timid because we have a reputation for it. (Tackle Richmond they'll go to water.)

Now would be a good time to mention Bachar Houli. He started timid but keeps getting better. How's Rhys Shaw going at the moment - the talented Shaw.

Building a culture of bravery is crucial to any club, particularly one that has been annihilated by Terry McMuffin Wallace. Jibs go. Brave stay. For now.

More about timid. And why Muscles is important.

It's cultural (in the country). It's about prosperity and happiness - peace. We teach tall boys to slouch, to be ashamed of their height and not to bully. We henpeck them and we make them timid.

Griffiths. Post. Astbury. Elton. Typical tall boys once, now young men. They won't fly. Muscles can beat them in the air at training. In a game. He can show them the way. Boys, young men, men learn by doing. Show. Do.

Having a brave tall on the list is crucial. Having many is the way of the future. It's not about Lace-out's future in itself (I hope it is...). It's about building a culture.

I'm delighted that we burnt Morton and gave A. Maric a chance before burning him. Muscles can stay.

Wonderful, colourful, elucidation Blood. Footy's a man's game. McGuane's a man. Boys need men to help them learn to be men. We have a lot of boys.
