McGuane set to sign a new contract and stay a Tiger according to an unnameable AFL site.

Looks like it's in the papers now along with White re-signing.

Can't believe this. Why not test the waters with free agency first?

or at least test the waters re a possible trade (from the clubs perspective)

looks increasingly likely we will only take 3 picks in the draft plus the 2 mature recruits from SA on to the main list.

all a bit quiet at the moment, particularly given the "super" status of this years draft, but I guess its early days yet

I reckon we're too scared to trade players out.

good idea to sign McGuane before big offers come flooding in. he is a FA remember.
being named in the Queensland team of the year would have bumped his price up considerably.

If the club had any confidence that griff post or astbury or elton or derrickx would actually make it, mcguane would be delisted

clearly, they dont

It shows how crap we really are

As he was in the top quartile of salaries, why not sell himself to other clubs before agreeing to re-sign with us on what should be a lower salary?

Our club is too scared to make the hard decisions
Although I still think that Luke should be on the list before at least 15 other players just for his aggression
We have too many kittens on our list and MCG is not one of them

Was he in the top quartile previously?
And do we know what he's signed for now?
He quite possibly is on a lower salary now - that might well have suited both parties if he was to have accepted a lower rate for an extra year.
