Is playing quite well so I'm not going to bag him, but if another club comes knocking we need to throw the door wide open.

No one will come knocking because he wouldn't get a game anywhere else.

He might get another contract here but only only here.

Re: Luke McGuane = Guts

Impossible not to admit that McGuanne has been showing more as a 3rd target than anyone else on the list. Put Vickery in and we may be onto something.

Re: Luke McGuane = Guts

It's a good life for McGuane. Played AFL, got paid more than he would have anywhere else as a result of the club having to meet the minimum TPP, and gets to end his career kicking a few sausage rolls.

Re: Luke McGuane = Guts

Poor bastard has been played out of position for his entire career until now.

and sadly we had to witness it.

Re: Luke McGuane = Guts

Reminds me of how Mitch Morton used to look like a half decent AFL footballer at the end of the season against poor teams blooding their youth.

Combine Morton's skill with McGuane's ticker...there would be a player.

if the Gold Coast didn't think he would help them I would get on a plane just to find Mckenna and laugh in his face.
MGuane is from the Gold Coast too. But if we don't get a trade or lose him to free agency, Id keep him for another year

Yep. GC is the perfect place and we must start selling him quick.

11 goals from 6 games versus 4 goals from the previous 84
We recruited McGuane as a forward & for how many years have they tried to make him a defender?
Isn't it amazing how well a forward can go when he's played in the forward line!!!

He can certainly take a good mark. Another ripper yesterday in the square.
Has shown enough to keep persevering with up forward until year's end when the decision on his future has to be made.

Don't think that decision is as clear cut now as it was 6 weeks ago. He's certainly given then something to think about.

The McGuane situation should be highlighting the main problem at the RFC IMO.
Our backline is always the main concern & I can't remember the last time we actually had a backline that consisted of players drafted or recruited as backmen.
