I reckon they are often the same fans who swing wildly based on the last match. The darkest darksiders are often the brightest brightsiders after couple of bad results.

And then in 7 years time rate him as a good honest footballer who battled his way as a warrior to stay on the list.

Clubs wont trade for him tooheys, they'll just take him as a free agent, or more than likely as a delisted player.

Hmm. Was hoping he might go north in an exchange of close-ish draft picks or something. In that case I'd say he's even more likely to stay on for another year so long as he finishes the season off well. Big few weeks for a few. Luke being one of them.

Re: Luke McGuane = Guts

If McGuane is re signed this club is not fair dinkum ......... he wasnt even considered for a game till their was no one else yet gets to play in a string of games against lesser sides and kicks a handful of goals and is now untouchable to some fair dinkum spare me.

McGuane is was always has been and always will be a dud.

If Chaplin comes to the RFC in the year of the best draft in ages the club take only 3 or 4 players and hang onto duds like McGuane and Graham and A Maric and Moore amongst others we dont need to worry about making finals next year either or developing young talent cos we wouldve drafted bugger all of it into the club .

God this club and its list management cause me more heartburn at seasons end than the losses on a weekend they are intertwined mediocre players mean mediocre results the last 30 years tells the story.

He shouldnt even be playing now Elton should be put out there to get some game time as a KPP instead running around with the insipid rabble that is Coburg.

GET RID OF HIM CAMERON YOU *smile*

Considering it's just supporters speculating about Luke, what's the point in having an abusive rant at the list management? Did CC ring you to let you know he was giving Luke a shiny new three year extension?
As for Elton. Kid got thrown into a senior game earlier this year, had NFI what he was doing out there. I saw the first half of last weeks Coburg game and he had NFI then too.

Sounds like Elton is coming on like nicely ;D

Think everyone craigo, (Dimma included) has come to the conclusion that Luke's days as a stalwart key defender are pretty well over.
Chaplin's clearly been earmarked because they feel McGuane, Moore and Post are all short of the quality as key backs.

They're giving Luke a last role of the dice as a forward to see what he offers and so far he's done ok but it does feel like a bandaid solution for when younger preferred players hopefully return fitter and stronger after preseason. Hopefully.

I guess the thing Hardwick and Cameron will have to weigh up is whether they see him as a more viable swing option (insurance) ahead of Post. Personally I think he is but if we chase Cloke as well I think both those guys will be in trouble.

I'm still staggered at some of the nonsense on this thread - our 2nd best key forward? Some sort of swing man option? Save me, like craig I'll be pretty disappointed if he is still on our list next year.

he's not 2nd, he's # 3 behind Vickery & Riewoldt. Yes it's a concerning fact but you can't deny he's kicked 8 i think in his 5 games.

That's some dedicated McGuane spotting right there. Someone was upset about the Brisbane trade falling through.

More like sixth behind Riewoldt, Vickery, Miller, Elton and Connors. It took injury, poor form, no form and a sacking for Luke to get another senior sniff and to his credit he's giving his opportunity an honest crack.
Not overly fussed if Luke gets another year or gets moved on but a bit similar to Tuckaduck being left on the sidelines last year I think Lukes played this year with exceptional honesty. If he gets an extension and an opportunity to play third tall forward next year he'll have earned it.

Lukes complete body of work " Honest Battler " just like many tigers in recent years that have been pumped and hyped towards superstardom by desperate supporters.
Perhaps you'd be gracious enough to paint the rosy portrait of our young talls for those of us without the vision to appreciate the rapturous beauty in the minds eye.

Can't knock his game today.

Very lucky to get his run of games against primarily dud opposition.

Cameron in his incompetance will probably give him another 3 years after today.
