Luke McGuane

Re: Luke McGuane = Guts

I feel like we are in a parallel universe where McGuane is lauded and Martin trade bait :hihi

Luke was serviceable today, and should keep his spot

That's what I thought watching Rivers and Garland play forward for Melbourne, and Watts and Dunn back. Seen it before at Melbourne though...

Re: Luke McGuane = Guts

Luke played well. Huge work rate.
Strong marking and kicked a couple of goals.
Did all we could expect in his first senior game as a key forward.
Played better than Jack today.

2 goals 2 points 2 goal assists

Good effort from McGuane today.

If he can maintain that conversion rate he can stay forever.

Re: Luke McGuane = Guts

Excellent game by Luke today. :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap
Provided a contest, marked well, kicked goals and looked at ease in the forward line
Looks like hes a forward should never be played back again.

That last line is a bit rich ToO.

Re: Luke McGuane = Guts

McGuane played pretty well today but........that first miss was why he doesn't seem to have much of a future.

Those are simply the goals that have to be kicked. Better opposition will make you hurt for missing those.

I was slightly disappointed with him today. Thought we'd see more.

To be fair Jack kicked 1.5 and missed about four of the ones McGuane missed.
i though he did ok in his first effort as a CHF.

Ripper game! 100 times better than Miller.

Was hoping he'd do well up forward like he has for Coburg in recent times.

Looks very fit. If McGuane can kick 2-3 goals per game we won't miss Vickery or Miller too much.

Like Derrickx, hit the contest hard. Both put their bodies on the line.

Keep it up Luke!

Re: Luke McGuane = Guts

I liked the way he took advantage of defenders over-playing Jack. We've been crying out for this all year. Unfortunately I think his kicking is going to remain a problem.

I think he copped one in the guts from Dunn late in the game too.

That makes sense. He was bent over for a minute or two, then when Nahas kicked a goal McGuane ran up to Dunn to give him an earful while he was lying on the ground.

He's a good option given that Vickery is gone and Miller just not playing well enough.
It's good that we have depth players like McGuane and White to come in IF required.

Re: Luke McGuane = Guts

Gives a contest, hardness and some laughter. Like the rest, disgraceful infront of goal but if he keeps playing like this he has the spot for 2012.
