Take your point but I'm pretty sure that ball bounced before it went over the line. Was a poor umpiring decision (one of many).

Yep, it was NOT out on the full, and the replay and commentators said as much. One of many very ordinary decisions on the day.

Mind you if they didn't pay out on the full, I'm sure that they would have paid deliberate. Jake and Luke don't get the benefit of ANY doubt.

In the forward line it a Richo moment.

good call. he's richo like with his long hard leads, his pack crashing and pack marks, and his brain fades. Luke McRicho.

We could start with conversion rate, clangers, goals, goal assists and frees against.
What about frees for, pack smashings n outrageous OMFG moments either good or bad.
We could analyse the absolute crap out of Luke's game n still not come up with a definitive answer.
Me, I'm content that Luke busts his arse for his team out on the field, provides some amazing moments and is playing forward instead of back so that his odd doofus moments ( which all players have ) don't create so much angst among the supporters. Trying to package up some form of numbers or stats to represent his performance often have little relevance without being measured with regard to the overall performance of the team.

Fair criticism? I referred to bits where he was bagged as being a complete dud, hopeless, not even VFL standard? Hardly fair in my book and subsequently proved wrong.

As a backman he wasn't cutting it and people criticised his ability, some without tact. Obviously the coaches saw that a change had to be made. Because his attitude is excellent he has now re-invented himself. Well done Lukey, keep it up.

That wouldn't surprise me. Although I remember at the time saying to my mate...."it could only happen to McGuane".

Am loving his transformation.

His last kick that hit the post was my funny moment in the game. I turned and said to a mate "that's the Luke moment we've been waiting for"

Love his toughness, hope he learns to kick them from the pocket on the set shot, got the snaps covered now :hihi

True, I'm not really a stickler for stats anyway. If the team keeps winning and he continues to contribute then I'm happy as Larry. The next 3 weeks are a massive test for everyone in the side, we simply can't afford any passengers, if Muscles is at the forefront of the Richmond revival then more power to him. Saturday will probably be the closest thing to a finals atmosphere that we'll see all year, this is a rare moment when all our players reputations are on the line.

Even on the weekend, he chased a ball near the boundary and accidently kicked it out on the full and another one I swear the ball bounced up and hit him in the beak.

At least his 3 stooges moments aren't happening 20 metres out from the opposition goal, directly in front any more.

actually the ball hit the ground after his shin , it wasn't out on the full at all !! idiotic umpiring blunder

No, he was always good, but his disposal lacked polish. Going forward gave a bit more tolerance to his kicking and the rest is becoming history. Great pressure and endeavor, but still needs to polish the kicking a bit.

You have to love someone who works hard, gets a chance and grabs hold of it with both hands.

He is Schulz like in his mobility and marking, and is replacing a bloke we stil should have at Tigerland.

Next week is a pretty big game too. It won’t be as big a crowd, but Freo play every game like it’s a final and the football will be red hot.

I'd be happy if we went 1-1.

Luke needs a new name.

Luke needs a rockstar name befitting his shoulders and form. Lets throw petrol on a burning man. Its a shame buddy and tex are gone, both would be perfect. Lucky? Sonny? Elvis?

Re: Luke needs a new name.

it doesnt need to mean anything, it just needs to sound like a rockstar. Billy?
