Yeah true but for a long time there were one particular perspective being absolutely hammered here where he was described as a dud, hopeless, not up to VFL standard etc etc etc
Thankfully that perspective seems to have evaporated.

The reality is that as a backman that was all fair criticism. It is fantastic coaching that has resurrected his career. Luke never failed to apply himself.

I also liked the move of Newy back to where he fits best, if he isn't going to kick goals he must play along half back. Batch will get his turn in due course. I feel better for Newy being down there than Batch at this stage but it's great to know that we have Batch in the waiting.

This conversation makes me think that they will need to make a decision on Griffiths at some stage. I just can't see him being a long term backman. His only genuine asset down there is height so do we want to waste years of development trying to get something out of him that he doesn't have?? He's very young so there's time but I just hope they get it right with him sooner rather than later. Does anyone think he could cut it on the wing?

He He, yes very nice Scooper.

Come on guys, theres always room for you two on the McGun Wagon. We need someone looking out the back telling us where we've been.

I've got just the bus for the very handsome Luke "Muscles" McGuane. It's the perfect combination of trainwreck and sex appeal. (Just change the name Johnny Knoxville to Muscles McGun.) >

So who wants to get on the McGun bus now, eh?

Leysy thought its more someone needs to drive. Everyone else is too blinded by the light.

I chuckled. But then I laughed out loud when I saw your avatar.

Fair criticism? I referred to bits where he was bagged as being a complete dud, hopeless, not even VFL standard? Hardly fair in my book and subsequently proved wrong.

As an unashamed McGuane fan, I'll be the first to say that if the footy department see Luke's future as a forward, then he needs to be on the trade or delist list at the end of this season. Lukes our best defender, but he's a crap forward.

Some very funny stuff earlier in this thread and thought you may get a chuckle out of one of your posts Baloo. ;D

Well, yeah. Sometimes we get emotional and post without thinking. But on the whole I've rarely got them wrong. Like my early call on Gourdis.

Ouch. Take that *smile*.

Gotta stop the hate Baloo. It's not good for you.

Leysey, you of all people shouldn't condone people digging up 3 year old posts.

I never really got off, but ill have another ticket. Lukes axe handle shoulders, his quiff and his attack on the footy are the biggest story at Tigerland in 2013. Even the most unipolar optimist couldnt have seen this coming.

It's OK Baloo, if McGun performs over the next month you can stop the hate & jump in (behind leysy) on the bandwagon.

Hopefully there's room for you after leysy & scoop jump in.

There will always be room. Astute haters never admit they had it wrong.

Luke making quite a few of us look foolish atm.

Needs to perform against quality teams before that happens Tooheys. Starting this week.

Will be more than happy if he does make Leysy eat his words though. Its a role that has badly needed filling in our side & will be crucial to us making big progress.

Fair enough there are some top shelf opponents coming up. Likely to get Harry O or Goldsack this week.
All our players will need to step up over the next 3 games.
