The link you gave clearly mentioned birth of baby rather than having a pregnant spouse or impending birth.

Yes, I said technicaly you are right. Do you want me to say it again ? Just in case, here you go. "yes, technicaly you are right"

But again, the fact that you think that because you, or a pregnant female, can function without issues has any bearing on how the impending birth of a first child can affect a man just proves you're not a man. Obviously here I am making the assumption that impending birth means the man has a pregnant partner, but technically I could be wrong there as well.

Haha glad I'm not a man if having a pregnant partner makes them lose focus on their job. I had to work to a high standard throughout my pregnancies.

I thought blokes went on the *smile* through these occasions. ;D

Impending birth is different to actual birth. The link you gave clearly mentioned birth of baby rather than having a pregnant spouse or impending birth.

Very hypocritical. Or just ignorant? Especially For one always defending the individuality of feelings. How could you possibly know how he (or anyone for that matter) is impacted by an impending birth?

You find it incredulous that a pregnant partner can play on a man's mind enough to have him lose focuson his job. That just proves you're not a man.
It would play on my mind, particularly if the wife found out.

This article claims he gets dispensation to drink during the fasting to play footy.

You can make all the assumptions you like. Whether you use the term impending birth (your comment) or pregnant partner (as I said) they're pretty much the same thing. The link you provided saying the club had confirmed what I said mentioned neither of them. It said the "birth". That's very different to having a pregnant partner. I wouldn't have a clue how the pregnancy or the birth influenced Shaun and/or his football form. I wouldn't presume to judge something so personal.

You know what it's like to have a pregnant wife? You know how their pregnancy went? Talk about sexism ::)

I never suggested I know what it's like to have a pregnant wife or mentioned in any way how their pregnancy went. I originally said Hampson's form was tied in with having a pregnant partner. That's fact. It was. I didn't offer any personal opinion on the matter.

"Hypocritical"? "Sexist"? "Ignorant"? It's not me who has judged and discussed how Shaun's form was impacted by having a pregnant partner. Others have made excuses or given reasons on his behalf. I see no evidence, despite Baloo's claims and link, that the club has "confirmed" or discussed impending fatherhood as a reason for his form. I wouldn't have a clue what they think about it.

Yes yes, technically you are correct. The precise words, taken on their own, ignoring the intent, can be shown to prove you are perfectly right again.

Well done.

Would love McBean to get another bag of goals this week and give the selectors no choice but to play him.
Would be a really promising sign that he's getting back to the form shown last season.

If you are Muslim and know this for sure, I apologise in advance. But, in my understanding, and we have spent a lot of time in Turkey and have many Muslim friends over there, you are wrong. You can get dispensation on the basis of need as long as you can carry out your obligations later. Whether Houli takes advantage of this I don't know.

I'd like to see that happen too, but I bet even if he does it he still won't be selected, they'll go for Hampson. Hardwick does not want to play McBean or Elton. They don't feature in his plans.

Dimma's right.

You've got to earn your spot.

I mean kicking 55 goals in 20 odd VFL games, interspersed with a busted ankle and broken finger means squat when you've got the sparkling talents and proven form of Hampson, Morris and Thomas available.

BTW Griff's got a few games as a key forward despite not kicking 55 goals in total in his last 7 years of footy (including two junior years)

He'll be clinging on for dear life at the list management decisions with that sort of performance. We are trying to build a high performance culture FFS. He should be aiming for 35 hitouts, 7 disposals (mainly handballs to a player in worse position), 1 mark (13 dropped uncontested marks), 1 *smile* poor attempt at a tackle and 0.1 with 2 out of bounds on the full.

You forgot the turnovers by kicking directly to an unmarked opposition player.

Can't argue with that, lambchops.
