Maybe the bean burger should be given some game time down back to develop better defensive pressure.

Can you imagine the meltdown on this thread if the club did that?

I don't think there is enough popcorn in the world.

I think I am correct in saying that McBean actually played as a key defender at times in the TAC.

someone will confirm that

Yes played 2012 as a defender. Naturally that's why we're playing him forward.

For double clarification.

I dont want him to be a defender and I don't want him played as a defender for Coburg for education.

He is a natural forward.

But he does need to learn to defend when we don't have the ball.

You cant have opposition players waltzing out of our forward line under no pressure.

Geez the foot skills around goal are very tidy. The around the corner snap, the 30m dribble, the deadeye anywhere in range. He's still way too thin for mine. A well placed Merrett knee could make a mess of him.

Might be an early call but Bennie lloks like the son of the Football Holy Trinity of Hart, Roach and Carey, with a dash of Gablett Snr, and sprinkle of Gabblett Jnr and a shade of Maurice Rioli.

Sounds about right.

I would expect him to win 4 Brownlows, 6 Colemans, 3 Norm Smiths (Chimp will take one off him in controversial circumstances), 8 JD Medals and 3 Jim Stynes awards.

Anything less than that would be considered a failure.

Mick McGUANE gave him a huge rap on RSN this morning. Even suggested a finals debut for the BEAN. Stated to Chriso "remember this kid". The secret could be out?

shelling peas.

Looks ready for a debut to me. So what if he's skinny, he's young and tall, he's meant to be skinny, as long as he's good. Stick him in for a game I say.

Agree - Dustin Fletcher is still skinny and he's played 350+ games.

the highlights package of McBean shows practically ALL of his involvements on Sunday - the package lasts under 3 minutes

before he becomes a complete player he needs to work on what he does for the other 117 mins of the game

his game on Sunday reminded me of Mitch Morton - highly skilled sharp shooter, but with little to offer defensively

not trying to be wet blanket, just trying to manage supporter expectations

yes he has great potential

Screw expectations.

Bring him in now so he can make a late charge for the Coleman!

And that's just in his debut season.
