Liam McBean

no hurry for Liam - any one notice the young Daniher was way out of his depth last night - couldn't get near the ball and they had to sub him out mid 3rd term.

Keep him a secret and release him in our first finals gig. He's a Monty for the Norm Smith.

Needs to be given a chance on the big stage against the Hawks.

It will more than likely be our only positive for the day.

No way would I play him against the Hawks... don't need to crush another first gamer.

Yeah not yet, maybe against GWS if anyone but we really, really need to beat GWS and Brisbane, I don't know if I'm even all for blooding youngsters against those teams. If we drop one of those 2 games we won't play finals IMO.

Played great his first two games though. Obviously the young guy isn't going to come out and rip every game apart.

agree goodie- I would give him the 3 games from Bris to GWS to see how he goes although part of me says Astbury is above him in the queue.

Don't think they're eyeing Astbury for a forward role. I reckon Grimes will be back before Astbury gets another look in. Like you, I'd love to see McBean play the Brisbane to GWS stretch and see how if he handles it. If nothing else it will give him a taste of what's required at AFL level.

Liam McBean 6 goals today V North Ballarat, get around him :clap

Coburg won by 16 pts
Womderful. Does anyone know who played on him?

Six goals against the Ballarat Roosters is a fair effort.
Whle many are calling for his selection, I think Dimma and the coaching panel are very aware that they have a potential champion in their midst and they are being mindful of not playing him before he's ready.
From what I have read about him, he seems to be pretty level-headed and knows where he sits in the scheme of things. he also acknowledges that he has to build his frame and playing weight quite a bit to endure the physical buffeting he will experience.
He is sure to start getting a regular run in season 2013.
