Liam McBean

In that case, yep I'm saying Liam did more than Ty :)

Did you watch him play? Ty has the better stats. Ty had a good first quarter too. Others on here remarked about it. I wish they'd both do a lot more.

Nope, did you? As I said, I'm just going off the coaches comments - they're not in the habit of sugarcoating a McBean performance.

I did watch Ty, and completely disagree that his first quarter could be described as good. Looked either lost or disinterested. No impact on the game whatsoever.

Liam had an impact according to the coaches, ergo, a better game.

(Also, not sure how Ty's 8 disposals 4 marks 0 goals are better stats than Liam's 9 disposals, 5 marks, 1 goal 1)

No but I didn't suggest one did more than the other like you did.

StatsKHBMTGH/O
Liam winning VFL715210
Ty flogged AFL265505

5 of Liam's 7 kicks were ineffective and Ty's D/E was 75%.

posting the result of the respective games hardly helps your cause.

hence the mention of McBean's more valuable contribution.

I don't have a cause other than playing Don Chipp. Did you watch Liam play? If not how do you know his contribution was more valuable?

Ah but you said it was well played when BS did it. There a bit too much :bs around here when it comes to Liam.

Liam McBean
One goal, nine disposals, five marks

He really could have torn the game apart early. He looked like he was going to take it by the scruff of the neck. He eased off a little bit but then again in the last quarter, when the game was there to be won, he stood-up.

Sorry, thought you were saying Ty played a better game, hence all the stats quoting and so forth.

Speaking of stats, you can paint all sorts of pictures depending which ones you quote.

Like Liam taking 3 contested marks, Ty 1.
Or Liam kicking 1 goal 1, Ty not even registering a goal assist.
Or the fact that the majority of Ty's disposals were uncontested, and therefore not under pressure
Or that in an entire game of football, Ty kicked the ball twice.

None of that really tells the story, hence what I said before - I'm going off coaches observations for Liam, and my own observations for Ty. And the coaches said that Liam looked like he could have ripped the game open, and really stood up when the game was there to be won. I didn't see Ty do either of those things, but if you can point me to where he did, I'm happy to be corrected.

scratching my head as to how you think Vickery was better :don't know

I don't think he was better. I wouldn't have a clue. I am having a chuckle at you quoting what the coach said about Liam when you're usually rubbishing what they say. So all the times the coaches (and PREnders) didn't think Liam was overly crash hot they were spot on after all? Right. As you were..... :rofl

no.

i have questioned their guarded assessments of mcbean, even when he kicks bags.

now that they have abandoned that foolishness I'm down with it ;)

I am happy to go along with the coaches too. Coaches word is obviously gospel. I've heard more positive said about Ty than Liam this year. I guess it speaks volumes which one they select to play seniors or not. It will be interesting to see if Liam gets a call up next week for such a good game. I hope he does.

That's precisely why I quoted the coaches - like I said, they're not in the habit of sugar coating Liam's performances, which imho lends credibility to any praise they give him.

exactly.
