Not sounding too ebullient there, Lamby. A bit defensive. Looks like he'll play if the training reports on Griffiths are true and no great recovery by Sunday.

Expected you to be oozing confidence.

You are grasping the wrong end of the stick Leon. Just bemused as that as soon as he plays homogenous footy he (maybe) gets a look in.

The scintillating stuff is "meh!' to our coaches!

Scintillating is strictly forbidden in the game-plan at RFC. Must be drilled out of players, does not conform with our process, nor indeed is part of our processes either. Thus the process is to ensure you never scintillate.

So Liam may have finally learnt 'The Richmond Way.' No wonder you aren't very excited.

If he plays and fails. no doubt it will be a combination of Hardwick's fault, poor delivery i50, not a day for tall forwards and climate change.

Or you know, just a young kid learning his way at the top level in game 3. Young kids take time to adjust to the jump and need a good run of games to gain experience and confidence. Just like Menadue, C Ellis and Rioli who have had numerous stinkers and kept their spots.

Unfortunately I think if he plays, unless he's a combo of Wayne Carey and Lance Franklin in game 3 he will be out straight away.

I really hope that if he comes in he will be given a stretch of 3-4 games to adapt to the level and show what he can do, like all the other kids that have been blooded this year.

He's played 3 years of VFL and there simply will be an adjustment period, especially for a KPP.

So he may play and 'fail' to impact, but he wouldn't be the first tall to do that in his 3rd game of AFL football.

If he's still not impacting after a handful of games, then we can start blaming Dimma and climate change.

Strange reasoning.
So the new kids that have been blooded this year after stepping up from " kiddies " football and only one pre season are still expected to perform to a certain degree n at least provide some glimpses of their capabilities.
Yet for Beanie who's been in the club for three years of pre seasons playing adult football at reserves level might need three or four games of failing to impact to allow him to adjust to grown up senior footy.
By my reckoning Beanie doesn't need to " star " as such but he'd damn well better pull his finger out at least a smidgin n show the club a reason for him to get another opportunity at seniors level.
McJesus needs to get involved n contribute before his fledgling career fades to grey then disappears.

Are you for real? I like Corey Menadue and Rioli and I like they are getting games but in many games they are passensgers for large parts of the game.

What they do is provide energy and glimpses of either speed and flair or skills or smarts.

Menadue is running is guts out but in very few of his games has he earnt his keep. Beanie was actually much more prominent than any of the three mentioned above in his first 6 quarters of AFL and I expect him to adapt and perform quickly but you need a period in which to assess and also for a player to get up to speed and feel confident at the level. This is something our development team have traditionally struggled with unless you are a chosen one like Griff or Morris.

You could chuck another 33% of Royce in there and Hardwick will still punt him for Griff!

Structures Barnzy structures!!

Yeah would be good for him to get a feel for it and for the club to get a handle on his capabilties at the next level.
On his VFL output this year though my expectations are tapered.

Exactly. I don't think McBean will get picked but if he does I don't expect him to come out and play a blinder. Anything above Vickery level would be a win at this stage. He needs a string of games to experience and learn the game at AFL level.

Gee we're a funny lot. For years we've heard how superior Liam is in so many ways and how wonderful he was in his 2 senior games. We've heard about conspiracies, personal vendettas and lost finals chances by not selecting him. Whether he's selected this week or not he's the closest he's been for ages. Suddenly the negativity and preconceived excuses are flowing. How about sending some positive vibes for the kid and duscussing his performances on merit. Talk about build him up to shoot him down.

Every real supporter wants all our players to do well. So well that come selection time it's a matter how many players deserve inclusion as opposed to how many deserve to be dropped. If he plays a string of games hopefully he'll do enough to keep pushing for senior selection. If he doesn't, hopefully he learns, goes back and works on what he needs to work on.

That simple really. No conspiracy, no plot, no vendetta. Just a handful of posters who staked their reputations on McJesus and now they are struggling to accept reality.

Nice to see you assuming the mantle of head cheerleader Rosy. Smart to cover all bases.
