Any criticism of McBean from those commenting on him (including me) has been directed at his workrate, lack of effort, chasing etc.

Yeah well I've seen him a couple of times and it's multiple times better than what Vickery is producing in effort. OK let's not elevate McBean but if we're going to be fair then Vickery needs to be dropped to VFL as well. Why does it apply to one player and not the other?

He refuses to become another drone. He kicks goals, plays like a big man, shows natural footy IQ and knows
how and where to run. He has a feel for the game, much like Jack. I have zero faith in our footy dept. They have
a history and a track record of getting it wrong, even when they eventually get it right. Remember Miles was not
their first option, Thomas was. It has taken them 3 yrs to work out that Lloyd is a natural goal kicking forward.
We have Griff who has a cannon in his right leg, but never uses it. Just does dinky kicks, rather than render
the opposition defense obsolete with a nice 60m goal/kick. Better stop here, otherwise I'll start on how they have
sucked the life and enjoyment of the game from the players, with their crap game plan and structures.

correct. refusing to follow the clog game plan. another positive to Liam.

With Griffo's injury, once again the door is slightly open for Beany. To have any chance of AFL selection, he will need a big game in probable heavy conditions against Coburg tomorrow. I wish him well and just hope Hardwick hasn't rubber stamped his papers 'never to return to AFL'. Channel 7 will show the game live from 11.30 am, Sunday.

I've seen him this year. He should be getting an opportunity ahead of Vickery.

Geez mate give it a rest. I can't speak for Lamby. I've seen Liam play once this year but I've seen plenty of games in the last few seasons.

The boy has got real talent. The type of talent that translates well to an AFL environment.

Why don't you stop gobbing off about how many games you go to and come to grips with the concept that it doesn't automatically make you right?

Because in this case you certainly ain't.

I recall you and Lamby mentioning how much you saw live in previous seasons as though it gave you some superiotity.

Yep the difference is Taz just drones on and on about it. It's his default fallback and it doesn't validate every single argument.

He's seen McBean. I've seen him too. More than enough to form an opinion on his prospects.

Yes that sounds fair & reasonable

It sure as hell doesn't make you right by default.

As it didn't with you. Interesingly PREnder reports have pretty much matched coaches reports this year.

As I've said on this thread he was quiet the day I saw him.

I still think he deserves a block of games at senior level. We need to see what he can do. It's not as if we're purring along, finals bound.

And it's certainly not a case of too many other forwards in good form.

I'm on record as predicting big things from this bloke. He's a unique talent.

Did anyone hear the interview with Dimma this morning on SEN?

When Anthony Hudson asked him about McBean, he couldn't remember how McBean performed in his last VFL match.

How on earth can a senior coach not know how one of his players played in their last match?

It's not like he would have been at the game.

So because he wasn't at the game he doesn't know how he played? What does he do, wait for McCrae to post his review on the RFC website?
