Of course it could - both are goal kicking forwards. Naturals at playing in the F50.

McBean kicks 4 and he isn't doing enough. Cloke kicks four and he should be back in the team ASAP.
tigertim said:Except by all accounts he won't be replacing any of Cox, White, Moore or Grundy in a currently winning side.
rosy23 said:It seems to me those who haven't seen Liam play this year are basing their hopes on goal tallies. Reading the weekly reports that isn't an issue with the powers to be. Liam must know what aspects of his game he needs to work on.

Ivan isn't a key position forward however, so shouldn't be picked to play as a forward when he isn't one.
You're argument about being in the bests is a bit simplistic. Yes it's reasonable that Liam hasn't been up there more often. Our midfield has been beyond woeful, and if you see how many forward opportunities he's given, you'd see he hasn't really had much chance to impact contests. What's more an indication is when our midfield has been on top (our two wins) the output we've been able to get from McBean.
Could he be doing more? Absolutely. Unless you're Jack Riewoldt I'd say all our key forwads could do more. Is McBean doing more than Vickery is currently, the answer is yes. That's the grounds for him to be promoted. Vickery is out of form, and not showing as much as the person who'd replace him.

lamb22 said:Beats me too Rosy. Why people would want to compare non performing tall forwards in the firsts with performing tall forwards in the seconds is mind boggling.
Good point about Ben too. Scores 5 goals once in a career and rightfully has a nice bank of 6 or 7 games guaranteed. Beanie kicks 4 bags of 5 in an 8 game block and obviously needs to back it up.
Pretty black and white when you think about it.

rosy23 said:Seems pretty obvious to me that goal kicking isn't the reason Liam isn't being selected yet it's easy to think he doesn't have a lot more to his bag of tricks going by the amount it's refered to.
lamb22 said:Apart from goal assists and terrific decision making and ball use around the ground you are pretty much spot on.
