Of course it could - both are goal kicking forwards. Naturals at playing in the F50.
Ivan was given best player votes last round. Liam didn't get any votes. He's polled in one game out of 6 regardless of goals kicked. Do those watching him play think that's reasonable? I haven't seen him this year but the reports indicate he hasn't been starring.

Needs to be a little more defensive but geez same can be said bout Ty...Goalless last 2 weeks and 1 kick in 4 qtrs V Freo without question should be dropped...

Ivan isn't a key position forward however, so shouldn't be picked to play as a forward when he isn't one.
You're argument about being in the bests is a bit simplistic. Yes it's reasonable that Liam hasn't been up there more often. Our midfield has been beyond woeful, and if you see how many forward opportunities he's given, you'd see he hasn't really had much chance to impact contests. What's more an indication is when our midfield has been on top (our two wins) the output we've been able to get from McBean.
Could he be doing more? Absolutely. Unless you're Jack Riewoldt I'd say all our key forwads could do more. Is McBean doing more than Vickery is currently, the answer is yes. That's the grounds for him to be promoted. Vickery is out of form, and not showing as much as the person who'd replace him.
What is my argument General and scoop. Not sure I made one. More an observation. Also why do people need to bring Ty into the discussion about Liam so often. Makes it seem there's not a real strong case for him on his own merits. At least Ben isn't being brought into it so often now.

Good point about Ben too. Scores 5 goals once in a career and rightfully has a nice bank of 6 or 7 games guaranteed. Beanie kicks 4 bags of 5 in an 8 game block and obviously needs to back it up.
