Re: mcbean -- birth of a legend

Both young lads look the goods and Beanie just seems to get great penetration on the kick with accuracy and it is a quick kick too - fantastic. Mcdonut a ripper

I think they ought to pick the games with smaller back lines and play him selectively. No point risking him in Perth. But would definitely seem capable of stepping up a grade.

Agree. Glass, Schofield, Mackenzie? . His nick name may as well be 'Pinky' or 'Tuscadero' after they Malachi crunch the sh!t out of him.

Re: mcbean -- birth of a legend

conventional wisdom days wait at least till next season.

however ... third tall takes him. he runs them away from jack and rone. all of a sudden gets the ball dropped on his head. he's been taking marks over the back of blokes with his superior reach and judgment. he's been kicking ridiculously deft snaps from ground level.

a 200cm running flanker with air power and the goal sense of a true sneak. navy army and airforce all in one.

what the?

could just about play him now.

apart from giving the murmuring supporters some cheer, the players too are strongly galvanised by debuts.

when was the last time we had a KPP/ruck that was so influential so soon?

jack r took 2-3 years to emerge.

ottens?

before that you need to go back to son of bull.

Re: mcbean -- birth of a legend

McBean reminds me of Jack when he started out at Coburg. He was snagging 3-4 goals a game early on so the bean bag is on the right path.

McKenzie, Schofield lol. Both spuds. Glass will go to Jack.

I doubt he will debut this week but I want to have a good look at him before the year is out.

Re: mcbean -- birth of a legend

I hope he does get at least one game this year, he is a tall skinny kid but my god has the footy smarts of a guy at least three years into his AFL career playing at that seconds level. We as outsiders dont know his physchi in terms of how he would go in the seniors but if he is confident in his ability then right now then i would certainly be looking at introducing him sooner rather than later. A real thinking footballer is what i have seen who has got great skills. The guys build is the only thing the holds him back.

Jack announced himself game 2 at Coburg for me. Showed all the tricks he shows at AFL level plus the ebullience.

They took their time with him unnecessarily. Could easily have played as a 'flanker' from game 3 of 2007.

Instead his presence at Coburg got them into a grand final that year. Amazing effort considering the rubbish running around at Coburg.

Itd be good if he could go to Essendon on secondment for a preseason.

Re: mcbean -- birth of a legend

Surely the danger with a kid like this is where Grymes is at - developmental injuries, too much running and too many hits for a lighter frame. I think he already could earn his spot, but hate to see the kid do an Achilles or big hammy in his first season. Besides, Jack and Tyrone are constantly running into each other, hate to see a McBean Sandwich (C) twice a quarter.

Your right Hutstar. Not playing Beanie is more about his development rather than RFC's because he would improve it ATM. I think though that if he played his smarts would get him into good and smart spots.

There is a lot of Jack in how he plays (re smarts, tap ons, outthinking defenders) so a Beanie/Jack double act down the track is mouth-watering.

PS The kid thinks he is Peter Matera or Eddie Betts so he can play goal sneak or wing anyway.

Re: mcbean -- birth of a legend

I've got nothing new to say about McBargearse. I just like being in here. I've learned it's best not to dwell on the present when it comes to the Tiges.

Re: mcbean -- birth of a legend

Give him the occasional game against the really bad sides. That will ease him in and give him a taste.

Yeah, its like a sanctuary in here.

Re: mcbean -- birth of a legend

Be nice to hear Tigers fans say I can't believe 17 teams overlooked him rather than look at the guns who were taken after him.

McBeacon.
