Liam McBean

I've seen plenty of games on TV and it's hard to see the wider game going on beyond the limits of the camera view.

Doesn't invalidate the views of those watching on TV.

Just pointing out that Taz's tendency to promote his VFL attendance does not in isolation make him an astute analyst. And I respect his views in the main.

Baron Carts should perhaps provide a list of PRE's astute vs. non-astute analysts, then there would be no doubt and we could all get some sleep.

Anyway, Beano's shaky form this season is clearly due to the loss of Tim Clarke as VFL coach. Beany blossomed under Clarke and has gone backwards this year.

You mean like an official Astute Richmond Supporter Expert?

I'd concur on the whole with Taz's views on Liam this year. It's not a conspiracy. He's just been pretty poor in the main so far this season.
Unfortunate because I want to see him get another op at senior level.

Told his manager to look at other options for next season. He has obviously had enough of the rot and selection policies that go on down in Tigerland. Can't blame him!

That makes it sound like he has a very questionable attitude. By all accounts...well maybe all bar 2...he's not exactly starring at VFL level.

I'm surprised he had to go tell his manager to look. I thought 17 other clubs would have been knocking down his door trying to pry him away from us.

I hope his manager is better than Madonnas

:hihi

He'll do well at another club Rosy. Massive shame.

Why isn't he doing that well at VFL level this year then? Shouldn't he be improving?

I suspect Liam is quite bright. You can put up with people talking crap for a while and give them the benefit of the doubt.

It appears Liam has stopped listening. Sad for us supporters. Great for the new club that lands him. Port would be ideal for him but he may want to form a duo with Joe at Essendon.

I'd imagine Carlton would jump at the chance too.

I wonder what the coaches and recruiters at other clubs make of our blindness and negligence in relation to Liam?

no one squanders promising talls like Richmond does. I think it has been my greatest frustration the last 10 years or so.

Look, it's a good question.

I can only assume that he is young and hungry like most sportsman in his position. Maybe he is also sensitive to double standards at the club?

He's only a kid. We can't expect him to be resolute in the face of these perplexing selection decisions year after year.

HOW many forwards play well in regular loosing 8-10 goal sides, should get minimum 4 games to see what he can do, if he turns out at another club, it would be another nail in usc supporters cofins, and we are starting to look like a bed of nails.

Spot on. He is pretty much a freak continually kicking bags of goals in such a poor side with particularly poor users in midfield.

Sparked up when Miles went down to VFL level (another mind boggling decision by the selectors).

Really has no one of any skill at VFL level bar perhaps Marcon. Lennon plays half back, Madonna's gone. Corey Short and Menadue promoted.

Mellington is OK but doesn't get a lot fo it. Scott is neat but likes to kick goals himself.

The rest are Townsend, Moore, Hunt, delisted scrubbers or suburban footballers.

Such a waste. I am not a big fan of Elton's as I dont think he uses the the ball well enough.

However he has been treated appallingly. Played once in year 1 (when I thought he wasn't ready). Apparently blamed for our loss against Adelaide, dropped for 3 years. Brought back for one game on suicide mission on Cloke while Rance played midfield. Banished again , but given a two year extension.

You really cant make this stuff up. Horrendous player development.

PS Meanwhile Griff and Morris given red carpet treatment and players like Townsend gifted games.

Symptoms of having a top 4ish list?

VFL list is a separate list Rosy. We unfortunately do it on the cheap.

Bottom end of our list is a Hardwick indulgence and my views on his drones have been expanded sufficiently.

Failure of progression of our talented kids again a coaching and development issue. Jinx gave very good stats showing we get the least games into our kids and we lose/delist the most.

As I have said before Hardwick never misses an opportunity to miss an opportunity and that includes driving a top 4 list into the ground through unfounded confidence in the "Richmond Way" incompetence and neglect.

On the Richmond Way, anyone hear Macrae extolling its virtues. It's like a cult down at RFC.

Pity the cool aid hasn't come out yet!

The only possible way McBean could stay is if there is a board, exec and coaching spill.

And then the incoming coach would need to convince him to stay.

Not likely, but possible.
