There's a difference of kind, not degree here.

Hardwick will risk a strong, fast, hard at it type who is still working on their disposal/effectiveness, over a skilful, creative, dangerous type who is still working on speed/power.

It's why McIntosh has been allowed more time without the VFL runs under his belt, while McBean was allowed 5 quarters across two pretend games.

It's why Gordon has (until last week) often been selected ahead of Lloyd. (I wonder if Lloyds five goals in three quarters is enough to get him a round 1 spot?)

It's why Morris is playing forward instead of Knights/McDonough.

It doesn't mean Hardwick will never pick the flashy skilful player, it just means if it's a fifty/fifty we know who he'll go with. Which is going to make it hard for McBean. He has to be head and shoulders above every other forward on the list just to be given a chance.

I'd like to see what he can do with a chance. 3 games in a row at full forward.

I still think Vickery will make it, but he's had enough chances for now. Let Vickery prove himself in the VFL, let McBean have a chance to prove himself in the firsts. I absolutely know that we won't be worse off with that as a straight swap. And it actually gives us a chance to see McBean in a proper AFL side.

Top post. Really good.

This. On sheer output at the minute we wouldn't lose. McBean given the same role will produce what Vickery is putting out. And could be a lot better long term. If we go three talls, McBean is my preferred option as the third. At lest until Vickery dominates VFL for a couple of weeks.

We can't drop Plasma. Morris couldn't handle being the only whipping boy. Too much for any single player. It needs to be spread out.

Particularly with Grigg playing well in the NAB Challenge, and garnering actual praise from PREnders...

I guess we've still got Rolly Polly Conca to whip so maybe Plasma can afford to sit it out

Can you pm me your crystal ball vendor? I've been taking a hammering on the punt.

Well, lets just see it as a reward for two years of strong VFL form.

Vickery doesn't even have that unfortunately.

Dimma is keen on three forwards while the weather is good?

I can think of a guy who plays tall and small with a very healthy goalkicking record.

His name escapes me though ...

Seriously, end the farce Dimma.

And before everyone says his preseason form isn't great, Dimma has hardly given him continuity nor opportunity.

By all reports he played well for the ressies on the weekend.

End the holy faaaaaarce.

That's it, Carter.

Why the *smile* is that cat turned one-time dog Vickery in the frame for senior selection when a genuine prospect like McChrist is plaiting his *smile* to lace his boots* in the Magoos?

It's a farce!

* I've often wondered if that's the problem with the blokes who fall over too often - too loose in the stool.

The last time I saw mutton go so hard for a player was Collins. It resulted in mutton refusing to renew his RFC membership because the club refused to recognize the Brownlow winning abilities of young Andy.

There's hope for Beanie yet.

Hmmm....that's what I thought yesterday after watching him in the ressies .....he didn't show much desperation when he didn't have the ball and missed a couple of easy shots too...thought his time would be now and busting his arse to get into the seniors but far from it in my eyes

More hyped than Justin Plapp... let's see how he goes in the seniors though... if he ever is good enough to get a game that is.
