Liam McBean

I actually reckon the pressure for him to nail a few games will ramp up a notch next year. He won't be able to have the excuse that his body is not up to it as it will be his third season in AFL and second pre season. I am glad the tigers are taking their time with him but at some point he will need to be dropped into the deep end.

Seeing MCbean on Instagram shows that the weights program hasn't quite taken effect yet.....

Not sure I want him to be a big lug of a key forward/ruck.

I want McBean to be our Jack Gunston. Hurt people on the lead, and work hard up the ground. Both beautiful kicks.

McBean's height and quickness makes him very dangerous, think that his speed and agility may be lost if he bulks up inordinately.

what odds would you have liam at to make it as a AFL player?

Not sure I like putting a number on it, but I'd expect him to play a bit of footy next year to wet his beak.

I'd like us to experiment with having 3 key forwards down there, a la the Hawks:

McBean = Gunston
Griffiths = Hale
Riewoldt = Roughead

Having said that, I wouldn't mind seeing Griff isolated 1 on 1 in the goal square to see whether he can begin monstering full backs. Then have Riewoldt and McBean working up the ground.

This. Griff can certainly clunk them. Would be hard to stop. Reckon Jacks footy smarts would come to the fore as a roaming flanker. Even pinch hitting as a ruck rover

Certainly an interesting prospect, if he can build his tank, I can't see any reason he can't be a real unique weapon up the ground...hopefully the body stays sound n we get a good look next year

I hope so too. As a 'remote' (Tas) supporter, I'm yet to see him play but with so many posters on PRE giving him big raps I'm looking forward to seeing what all the fuss is about.

2 years on the list without a single seniors appearance ? Dud. Delist.

gee I hope this kid had been pumping iron well before the November 10 restart, Still 4 years from going achieving his full frame size but like to see 3-4 kg on him some definition starting to show.

Poor kid has been built up too much.
I think he will struggle to make it his body is so skinny i cant see him being physically strong enough

The bloke nearly won the VFL goal kicking in his second year. There are results to back up the hype.

Came fourth with 37 goals
I hope he doesnt become the next Justin Plapp with all the hype.
The Kids gotta play a senior game first then see how he goes

Ha, it's amazing how perception goes as soon as the season finishes. Beanie was kicking bags regularly, didn't get a game because we were pushing for finals, didn't want to change the side, and had a surplus of talls anyway (with Vickery unable to get back). He was knocking on the door on form, but couldn't break through at the time. He'll play regularly next year, and be kicking bags by 2016.
