Woah, Carter, gone with the scatter gun approach there.

Grumpy grumpy.

Scatter gun, shotgun, water pistol.

Whatever educates you Burger :)

Please, Dimma, please play McBean so Cartman will STFU already

Substance dude, substance. That's what I need from you.

Oh yeah I forgot -- you haven't seen McBean either.

I'm sure Burger has, he seems to know about footy.

You and Baloo seem a bit lightweight to me. Just cheerleaders basically.

But whatever, that's ok. Every club needs them too.

Out of interest what role would McBean play at AFL level?

Would he replace Jack as the number one forward playing deep, or would he replace Griffiths and play as the second tall changing in the ruck?

Would be a stupid decision to play Mcbean and lennon in the same team tomorrow night. Could easily end up with two passengers who are totally bewildered in a hostile environment in a must win game.
Match committee have it spot on.

Ha, just taking pot shots and everyone and everything.

I'm not sure I need the education.

Here's where I sit.

I have watched Beanie play, a number of times in the last few years. Been to a few, seen a few on TV. And I want him in the side.

I also have a problem with our game plan ESPECIALLY in regard to our forward structure. This year, I've seen us set up from a CENTRE BOUNCE with 1 man in our forward fifty. Mind = Blown.

The difference is, I've also seen redeeming features of Dimma's coaching. We never get blown away by any side any more, we're almost always in the game, almost every player on the list has improved under him, and they give absolutely everything every week. Extremely underrated quality getting your players to play for you. A lot of coaches never get that.

Basically, I don't boil every problem at the club down to Dimma's various invented personality flaws. His pigheadedness, his stupidity, his spin, his blindness, his conservatism, his hatred of ball movement and now his hatred of key forwards. I'm not sure 80% of those exist.

but taking pot shots willy nilly is fun :)

your post is a good one Burger. reasoned and informed.

you say that all players have improved, but I think some have gone backwards this year, whilst others aren't improving as spectacularly as they could be.

so what's true and what's hyberbole in my assessment of Dimma?

yes, he actually is pigheaded.

no, he is not stupid.

yes, he is guilty of spin on occasion.

yes, he prefers to control the ball offensively. (this means slower movement)

yes, he is conservative. instinctively.

no, he is not blind.

yes, tall forwards have suffered under him.

we'll have to disagree on the majority of the list. but I appreciate the debate, it's good fun.

and joe daniher hasn't set the world on fire but he's gotten a bunch of senior games this season. don't think he's as good as Beanie but he's going ok.
If I recall halfway correctly I'm pretty sure Joe Daniher was rated, if not as the best pick in the draft at least top three. Father son pick to Esserdope was akin to highway robbery, so Ive probably got a modest feeling that Joe might at this point in time be a slightly better player. Daniher's an exceptional junior talent who is progressing reasonably at senior level, but he's still been fairly ineffective in quite a few games.
Esserdope are smashing games into him in the hope of realising his talent ASAP purely because their doping draft and trade restrictions are going to seriously haunt them sooner than later.
Considering we have the luxury of still needing to get games into Griff with Elton lurking virtually untried in the back ground, we get the prime option of making Beanie properly round out his football abilities at reserves level. The intense pressure n scrutiny aren't there to drag him down or effect him in any way, he's simply able to go out n learn his craft and develop all aspects of his game properly.
Pretty sure by now we all know he can clunk a mark n scoop up a ground ball to kick some goals, but the coaches reckon he doesn't know how to stop his opponents from scooting off down the ground n setting up cheap rebound goals. Been plenty of out n out champions done a proper apprenticeship at magoos level who quite possibly might never have made the grade if they'd been smashed to hard as kids.

Daniher is also six months older than Beanie, which at that age and height can be significant in terms of development, especially when you factor in Joe training with the Bummers through 2012.
