ok thanks for quelling my panic attack ;D

Is he better than Wines who look pretty good

Yer if I had the choice probably go Kennedy. But if I was the actual recruiter and I didn't want mad Richmond supporters to burn my house down for picking a midget then id go Wines. :hihi

Tell me about the 1 ball winning grunt with poise the elite outside user with blistering pace who can kick goals and the freak half forward who can have 7 goal days out.

Not sure on the outside player but the half forwards name is Matthew McDONOUGH.

;)

Dayle Garlett/Josh Simpson would be the outside player or Jackson MacRae if we look closer to home.
Pongracic would have to be on the radar for a 2nd rounder.

Dayle Garlett would help us so much. Right now, we have no one besides Deledio who can run and carry and finish with class in the midfield.

We are desperate for more, dare I say it X factor. But Garlett brings much more then just X factor.

Agree. Watching North on the weekend they have real line-breakers. Advantage with Garlett is he can win his own ball too. Looking at his behaviour issues they aren't anything like a Troy Taylor. He used to like to party and he skipped a clinic day of some sort.

#Darling #Eagles trying to get another bargain :hihi

What are peoples thoughts on Sam Mayes? How does he compare to say Garlett? Both I assume will be available around our pick.

I personally think Mayes is a massive chance for Port Adelaide if Toumpas is taken earlier. The press will have Port taking Menzel, however, with his injury history they may well go for the bigger body mid to partner with Wingard and Hartlett down the track. If Mayes is avaliable at our pick I would definately take him.

For what it is worth I suspect we will pick between O'Rourke, Vlaustin and Kennedy. Wines is popular around here but way too slow for my liking. Our last 2 first rounders in Ellis and Conca are not blessed with leg speed and hence we desperately need some more elite speed for our future midfield. North with Atley, McMillian, Harvey and Harper ran us off our legs this week and Gold Coast did similar last week.

That is a fair observation. An injection of genuine leg speed will not go begging. We seem to have done well with drafting some of the quicker talls like Rance, Grimes, Griffiths and Vickery but our midfield is starting to look one-paced.

I liked what I saw of both O’Rourke and Kennedy. Vlastuin is a different type but he looked to be a solid decision-maker.

Toumpas is all class. Its a shame he won't be available.

I'm probably alone here but I think he will be the best player in the draft when people look back on it. Think he will be an absolute star. He seems to play like everything is in slow motion.

I think he is ways behind Whitfield, however, everyone else is. Definately in a group with 5 or 6 others directly after Whitfield though. Hence depending on need and club could go very early.

On football ability he is a great prospect but I question if his focus on the demands of an AFL footballer can be maintained. He could very well test the patience of some.

While I know this contributes nothing to the discussion buuut... good thread gang!

You are not concerned about the go home factor considering he left SA to go back to WA to be closer to his family?

no issue there, he did that because he knew he was going to be drafted, most likely interstate and just wanted to spend his last year at home. Have to back the club in to have a good enough support system and a strong enough culture to keep interstate players.

Also, on the flip side is he was willing to leave home to make sure he was able to showcase his ability in the Champs the year before for SA because he wasn't in the WA team.
