Another wasted pick. Looks like he's been at Sizzlers for pre season. Needs to lose about 4-5 kilos to have any effect in games. Lazy, slow and adds nothing to the team. Him and Prestia have been a big waste and have nothing to do with our wins. Could just as easily have Miles or Lloyd playing the same role with more output.

Thought Caddy was fairly instrumental in the end. Had 11 contested, 8 clearances and provided that strong body to chop out for Reiwoldt in the forward line. And kicked the sealer to boot.

5-0 Bro. Try Decaf.

He is actually, we have swapped the 3rd tall for a medium that Caddy is playing.

BTW, as a long time knocker of Caddy right back to his draft year, he is doing what we paid him for.

A fully exposed component for a mid 20's pick. His is what you get, and is fulfilling that. No more no less.

We've gone mobile and given Caddy the mantra of just bringing the ball to ground in aerial contests. He is better than I thought at this. And I lot better than Ty.

On Monday night in the first quarter he had about 4-5 key spoils coming off his man and helping out defenders who were beat. As well as getting 8 clearances.

Still want more form him but he is as advertised so far. The deal is more than sound. Right now, we are better with Caddy in this role than a kid in the 2's that we picked up and are waiting for him to come good in three year. Right time, right age, right price for the skill set.

Yep unfortunately many don't see this. There is no doubt Caddy, along with the frenetic actions of the likes of Rioli, Castagna and Butler, is helping Reiwoldt immensely. For the record on the weekend Rioli had 28 pressure acts, Butler 20, Castagna and Caddy 16. Great numbers for a forward unit.

Re: Welcome to Tigerland - Josh Caddy

Does anyone know where you can find the stat on what % ( or time) a player spends for eg on the ball or forward or back? I'm curious as t how much time JC is spending on the ball.

Re: Welcome to Tigerland - Josh Caddy

Interesting discussion. Our view of his performance can be influenced by our expectations. My impressions from Gold Coast days were of him being a bit lazy. Then he had an excellent year in 2015? at Cats, then quieter last year. I was expecting him to be a handy recruit and so far not disappointed at all. After watching the reply, came away thinking he was better than what I had noticed live. Is doing his part.

On Hardwick's PC is the only place I can think of.

Re: Welcome to Tigerland - Josh Caddy

We haven't lost a game with him in the team, best stat so far.

He is big. strong and takes a good player, very happy with him so far.

We haven't lost a game with anyone in our team this year.

ka - ching! Caddy is a weird one. looked like he was running in quicksand for a bit on Monday. then he emerges and does some things. he's a helper, and that's ok at this stage, but some improvement needed.

Re: Welcome to Tigerland - Josh Caddy

Appears to be a pretty solid player and making us better, smart without much frills. Don't think there will be many kids with the number 22 on there backs though.

Havent things changed very quickly in the football landscape. Footballers need a combination of raw speed, power and endurance to be elite midfeilders these days. Small forwards need raw power and speed with high skills to be elite in their feilds. Caddy does not have the attributes to be elite in either position.
These players are being found out as second tier types now. He is complementary to our team but think evryone was expecting more from pick 24.

Is Rocky still available?

Reckon he will still leave?

Didn't 17 other teams pass on Rocky?

Didn't his own club try get rid of him?

Would it have effected retaining dusty?

Who else might we snagg this year instead?

Is a one year stop gap in our long term player and list development interest?

Loads of variables!

Rocky is the blue ribbon mid/HFF of the competition. Psychologically flawed but who cares when he produces week after week. I also think the ego would be reigned in at a second club, being in a crap team has obviously distorted his self worth. We have spent 400k on Caddy, would much rather spend 800k on Rocky and then delist a couple of fringe types.

No chance he's the best at that role in the comp.

Luke Dalhaus, Luke Parker, Toby Greene, Robbie Gray, Zach Merritt &, Dustin Martin all better mid/fwd than Rocky in 2017. Paying overs for a star passed his best who has question marks over his ability to put the team first would be a huge step backwards. We just got rid of a bloke who plays that role. If he wants to come for 500 and be part of something then maybe but no way I'm paying full quid for him.

Prefer to pay 500 for Zac Jones and bring him home.

Rocky is in that elite group, absolutely no doubt in my mind. Dusty tops the list but he's ours already so doesn't come into the conversation. Given we've just signed Caddy on a long term deal it's probably not the best move but he should have been in our plans moving forward. I also debate that he's past his best, hasn't registered under 28 touches this year.

Agree bully. How good would he be with Cotchin and Martin as co mids??

He's elite however u measure it, FWIW dalhus does not belong on the same level as those others named.

I've watched Brissy a bit this year Bully and Rockys having zero impact on games. I actually the best one off that list, Zorko. I'd take all of the guys I listed ahead of Rocky for 2018 & beyond. Just doesn't fit our profile & list position. Two years ago, different story but not now.
