Have to laugh, we pay a pick in the mid 20's for someone who gets 18-20 touches and a goal game. Terrible.

We draft someone at six and they have one good week of 20 touches and there is bouquets of platitude thrown around.

Stay crazy PRE, stay crazy.

He was drafted as a big bodied midfielder who released our stars to the forward line. He was meant to allow our stars to play more outside and forward.

How's that going? Chimp and bull averages in 2017 for cont possessions, clearances, centre clearances and stoppages are all significantly higher than any other year.

Nothing to do with caddy (unless you argue the opposition is putting all their time into stopping caddy) more to do with nank, game plan, experience/fitness.

Yes, caddy can go forward and can play mid but I think he is average at both and we have better options. For a first round mid pick with 100 games up caddy is average.
What is caddy? Ostensibly a mid?

He averages 17 touches a game and 0.66 goals a game but that's not the issue. The question is was he recruited as a forward ( and if so is he being successful? and did we require a 187cm forward?) or was he recruited as the big bodied mid we so desperately required ( and if so why isn't he being played there?)

Maybe both depending on injuries and match-ups and progress of the younger brigade.

now now, I'm not down on Caddy and I'm happy with the trade, BUT, his game last week was average at best, Conca's on the other hand was very good and in the best. And he's been good in all 3 rounds.

Re: Welcome to Tigerland - Josh Caddy

Read on Josh's Wiki page that his brother Saul played for Richmond in the late 90's as a supp list player. Can't say I remember him.

Could be worse. Could have a bloke drafted at no.8 on the list, wandering aimlessly around the fwd line who's stats may as well be in the minuses (as Hawthorn are finding out).

Recruited for his versatility and vibe..

Could be that big Nanks exceptional work around the ruck contests means we have the luxury of fudging our mid / forward set up a little bit.

Both Prestia and Caddy need to be cut a smidgin of slack at seasons start. It does take a little bit of time for new players to adapt their game to their new team mates.

Barring injury issues, I'm comfortable we'll get good service from both Prestia and Caddy.

Cotchin, Dusty, Nanks all in red hot form at the moment simply means everyone else plays a lesser role for the moment, or perhaps with the whole team combining and playing well together just eases the load enough to allow Cotch n Dusty enough time and room to excel.

Pretty sure he was recruited as a mid/fwd, to deepen the rotations and that is what he is playing. His West Coast game was below pat but he still contributed to a win.

Saul Caddy was a gun in the Northern League for a long time. Big fella. And had a fair mean streak too.

Good that we are building depth in that area.

Yeah, I googled and youtubed him. Far bigger and angrier than Josh.

Re: Welcome to Tigerland - Josh Caddy

If Champion Data rate him elite for his role, that's enough for me.

Fair enough. If I'm not mistaken to be rated "elite" by CD means you have to be ranked in the top 10% of a category ie in this case mid/forward. There's 80 players listed in this category and Josh is in the top 10%.

Toby Greene: 471 points
Luke Dahlhaus: 446
Richard Douglas: 416
Shane Edwards: 414
JOSH CADDY: 410
Touk Miller: 377
Michael Barlow:372
Brad Hill: 337

Then:
Isaac Smith: 307
Lewis Jetta: 300
Jordan De Goey: 287

If he maintains that rating I'll be satisfied.

Where's Dusty?
Been playing mid / forward each week, surely they have him ranked somewhere around the 900 points mark.

Re: Welcome to Tigerland - Josh Caddy

Dusty is ranked 10th in the Midfield category with 521.

Behind: Dangerfield, Kennedy, Pendlebury, Bontempelli, Gray, Sloane, Zorko, Selwood and Parker.
