James Trezise

Not sure if he's just playing to instructions but his kicking out of the backline is way too conservative. Only really taking the easy 15m kick to the wing.

He's got something, but he also needs to be a bit smarter, that goal that Zurhaar kicked at the end of the 2nd was a comedy of errors really, poor spoil from Balta, then Tresize was right on LDU, hesitated as he moved to the wing, and allowed LDU just enough time to receive the handball and then release so didn't impact, then Rioli's tackle was poor. Horrible goal to concede, but you expect your mid size players to be excellent readers of the game, they need to be, as they are usually either on quicker or taller players.

Saw LDU burn off several more fancied players than Trezise.
That kid is a jet. Not sure using him is a good example

He didn't burn him off in that instance though, he was just moving to the boundary and Tresize didn't go with him. I might be being a bit harsh on him, but those are the things he will need to improve on to be 1st choice in the AFL.

Interesting , thought he looked a bit lost early , failing to get a touch first half , got involved sec half , agree on disposal, if he wants to make a name for himself he needs to make that piercing kick of his a trademark

It could be instruction, but yeah you can't have mid size rebounders just taking really safe options all the time.

His kicking skills have been very average when the came to us so maybe he is keeping it simple and taking the easy option until the kicking skills improve

Bloody tough match up size wise was Zurharr for JT , liked it Yze , backed the kid in against arguably Norf’s most dangerous forward , definitely tried to nullify and not attack , great education. Second half he appeared to be freed up more and played better .

I’ve got him as arguably our best potential junior , imho he’s doing extremely well , came from a different development role then most draftees , injured early in season then has been very good at VFL level and played some good minutes at AFL , he’s a lock rd 1 next season .

Sorry but Zuhaar is incredibly average and Larkey is an absolute gun. There is no way he is their most damaging forward

Yeah, I made this observation about Trezise kicking a few weeks ago:

He’s duffed a few kicks (who hasn’t!) so now he’s trying very hard to be safe and not turn it over.

Showed today that he can do at AFL level what he does in the VFL. Will only get better from here.

Jt is doing very well for a bloke who has only played half a dozen games. Has got plenty of scope to play a number of positions.

Did a nice job today.

Plays the last 2 no question accelerate the education, same as Blight, and Kaleb Smith.

Get the kids some minutes,

Wil; see plenty of it against the Hawks down back next week.

Kid continues to look good. There's an edge to his game and im not sure what people are going on about with his kicking. He seems to hit enough targets and does not panic with ball in hand unlike some one else we have playing.

I'm not sure either. Every single game I've seen of him except maybe 1 he's been super cool under pressure and disposed well. Seems to have alot of time like some of the best players do.
