Jake Batchelor

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

Not enough credit is given to this kid considering he is only in first year of AFL football. Has performed well above expectations. Pity he hurt his shoulder late in the game.

Sammy Spade is a ripper. Actually, Jake is a great name for him. He'd be right at home in Chinatown.

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

Hope the shoulder's not too bad. Young fella's getting better and better with every game.

She's too busy avoiding the Rance and Conca threads to post here.

I hope this is spot on TTT. Love the way Batch goes about his footy!

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

I am no medico, but I have a mate who dislocated a shoulder playing footy. Painful at the time, but within a few days he had good mobility back. Problem was that until he had surgery, he just kept popping it for the slightest things, so it was a real liability on the footy field.

Given Batch missed the Eagles game due to a shoulder injury, and has now popped one here, I'd be inclined to give him the rest of the season off, schedule suregry if required, and get him back again ASAP for preseason.

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

Love his size and composure for a first year player. Very astute drafting. Hope he spends many years with us. Must be a priority signing for a contract extension. Dont want GWS being allowed to get their grubby hands on him.

Season over is my mail.

Damn, is growing with every game, the extra few games would have set him up for next year.

Still a very respectable year 1 in AFL

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

Plays with a calmness and confidence that it's doesn't sound right to call him a kid. He's going to be a very solid player for quite a few years.
