Jake Batchelor

Thought he was a bit more attacking than normal, found some nice space. 80% DE belies the howlers he seemed to consistently do.
 
I like Jake, he's one of our genuine hard nuts and loves a shepherd (executing, not receiving), but he's a modern Collingwood six-footer. If only he were 193.
 
Was a mistake keeping him ahead of dea

Dea is a better footballer

Batch isn't quick enough of a good enough kick to play his position
 
No doubt our backline is more reliable with jake back in. You wouldn't know it by looking at jake but it has happened two years in a row to be more than just coincidence.

I am not a huge fan but willing to give him some credit.
 
did some good things and some bad things. A concern in heavy traffic, tries hard but can't quite pull it off. Good at getting into space and attacking from there. Makes you realise how good Grimes is, if you didn't already know.

jake makes the backline better. He organises and positions other players if you dont believe me watch a game live and keep an eye on how he leads in this area. He gives us the defensive nouse to allow Grimes to attack. Because the boys know Batchelor will take their man when they turn it over. No Batchelor makes our back 6 look like it has for the past 3 years in the early games. He played well last night and deserves some praise even though it was EFC.

Used to be a fan but he turns it over like no 2moro, so many of our forward forays by Jake came back just as quick by him turning it over...drove me bloody crazy! has to go cannot carry this turnover merchant anymore...

Agree mate. Dea the better footballer.
 
Batch makes our backline better imo. With the injuries we have back there, he stays in. So long as he doesnt play on Waite this week.
