Jack Ross

Ross is good if you want to finish 8th not for flags.
I watched him today, nice hands to Bolton for a goal. Just is soooo slow

I see him as more of a Brandon Ellis type than an inside mid.

Once he's decided what he'll do with the ball, that's usually what he'll do, and any new information just gets in the way.

Half back?

The MC keep moving him around position wise but he needs to be in a settled position to see what he can do. Right now neither he or us have any idea of what he has to offer which is why he is getting bad press

Got enough of the ball
Very surprised by the disposal efficiency numbers quoted
By the naked eye it looked like most of his disposals just missed the make ie the player had to stop and wait or couldn’t reach
Give him the next 2-3 weeks playing in the same position and assess
To me he could be a 15 - 25 player in a good team but not playing at that level now

Can definitely make it as a player, needs some consistency getting games

He was OK, bordering on good in patches. He had one turnover which PRE's resident supercoach was hyper critical of, but I think he had precious little time to do anything else.
I still think he should be used more in the middle, but think he's a solid player. Think he could be the type of serviceable player who can neutralise or win his position most weeks. Must stay in for mine.

Knows how to find the ball.

Good vision. Gets his hands free. Strong in the contest. Doesn't panic. Finds the best option in tight.

Quick enough, big enough, strong enough.

Runs all day.

He's an AFL footballer.

I thought he kept us going and was part of the resurgence with some good link play. I was also impressed with the leadership/team play; first to pat someone on the back and giving motivation. We're really missing that out there atm.

At the ground it was noticeable how involved he is too - he’s quite vocal and involved. He’s been fringe, but maybe he’s close to turning the corner - takes a while - he’s had a decent apprenticeship, but maybe he is feeling more confident at the level and could be about to become a regular.

I only saw it on tv so I'm glad someone at the ground can back it up. It was good to see. Especially considering how he's been in and out of the side to act like that when others around you are shrinking. He could've easily played safe and within himself. I'll be hoping for an improved next week.

Given how many veterans we have to retire in the next year or two, and how many kids still with question marks, important that we get games into Ross.

I doubt he will ever be a star, but he will be an important player over the next 10 years alongside Taranto and Hopper to build our next-generation team around.
