Ivan Soldo

Loved the aggressive way he rucked today. He was mean and nasty just like Nank but he is bigger.

Still not sure who to pair with him.

What just happened in that last quarter? Was he injected with Dusty Martin skill serum? I'm still rubbing my eyes. Amazing.

We know he can mark although that was missing in todays game but the rest of his game shows he has come of age and now we have a brute of a ruckman to compliment Nanks around game

being around Ivan and Nank is the best schooling he could have .. playing really good footy ..

Ha ha how good was his last quarter. There is no way he gets dropped. If they want to play Nank he has to pair with Soldo.

Don’t think Balta and Chol will provide us with enough in finals at this stage of their careers.

But yes Ivan needs to start taking some marks around the ground.

Has improved a lot and I'd rather him at a centre bounce v Grundy or NicN. But when will he take a bloody mark?
I’d take that game every day of the week and be happy

Let’s talk about his marking tomorrow.
Today we rejoice in his coming of age on the big stage. I’m calling him the Big Show

Perhaps now that he’s getting better at his craft his basketball background is starting to come into play, as some of his movements today in traffic were fantastic. I still wish he was just a little bit quicker but you cant have everything.

he did stuff he's never done before today.

I reckon the penny dropped.

he definitely went all Brody Grundy on us, without the man-bun

Soldo is a unique ruckman. I’ve always liked the fact that what he does is quite diverse:

A mark in defence
A link up handball
A mark and shot on goal up forward
A good, strong tackle
A good spoil
Etc...

He contributes a little bit of everything, not just hitouts. Now he’s even selling candy.

These are the surprise stories that accompany every premiership team.

After his first game this year I remember loving the fact that while his output was low, what he did do was quite diverse:

A mark in defence
A link up handball
A mark and shot on goal up forward
A good, strong tackle
A good spoil
Etc...

He does a bit of everything, and he’s simply kept improving as the year has progressed. Now he’s even selling candy.

Ivan is a unique type of ruckman.

Ive always hated and avoided the americanism 'selling candy'

But when Big Ivan did it, I jumped out of my seat and fist pumped and yelled

'Ivan sells THE CANDY'

Looks much more confident. I was wrong. Some of his taps to Dusty were spot on.
