Ivan Soldo

Not sure why people are quick to knock this guy. As a category B rookie he was always going to be a slow burn. I think we're still 18 month's away from him hitting his peak.

I'm not expecting Grundy, but I'm expecting a physical presence and continued improvement. He's thereabouts.

I really feel he does his role. Just don't let him be responsible for a kick after the siren from outside 50 to win the match :)

You can tell by the way he kicked that goal....... the man knows his limitations.
Plenty of so called superstars have shanked em from there.
What I'm loving about Ivan at the moment is he's having a redhot crack at it, helping to put us in the best possible position for September.

Yeah, he was just trying to kick it just the required distance. He can kick it further.

10 weeks ago he was merely a seat warmer. If we had to go Choldo as a ruck combo in a final we can be confident Ivan has something to offer.

Ivan Mk 2 is doing well and will end up a decent player . Good hardworking ruck in the Sam Jacobs mould. Unfortunately for him I think it won’t be with us because we have Nank and Chol and imo is about 12 months or less away being overtaken by CCJ who could be the the best of the lot.

Would be a shame to lose him, fits a need no one else does on the list as a giant that can compete with fellow giants. Now that he has demonstrated he can compete at the highest level it adds a necessary dynamic to the Ruck stocks and helps the overall structure of the list and its week to week strategy and tactics

agreed. keep him if we can.
this is the benefit of a happy club with players more likely to stay.
imo his connection with Maric means he will stay.
lets see after next year if Criminal has gone past him. I believe Soldo will step upagain next year

Soldo gives us flexibility, depth and insurance in the ruck stocks. I even think we can afford the luxury of rotating the ruck stocks and resting a big man every 2-3 weeks to ensure minimal injury and fatigue.

OK Nankervis 20 disposals 7 marks 34 hitouts 1 goal (and rested by halfway in the last). CCJ 19 disposals , 9 marks, 17 hitouts, 1 goal. Can we end the experiment now and swap Soldo and Chol out for Nanks and CCJ against Carlton next round?

Jesus that amazing numbers from our 3rd and 4th ruckmen.

Suddenly we are inundated with ruckmen.

who was the Casey ruckman? i see Preuss is in their seniors, which sounds like the Dees picked him to combat Choldo!

Liam Wade- Buxom (or something). i reckon Nank would have burst out laughing when he was told who his opponent would be.
