Ivan Soldo

Not a bad depth ruck.
Only had 1 x poor game I reckon otherwise has been serviceable.

Soldo has certainly come on big time with his run in the seniors and starting to look as though a has a future. More than competent today and kept Gawn honest

Nank and Soldo for mine. Nando

Yep after Chol's non appearance tonight I think this will be the go. Soldo is no Gawn and was soundly beaten but at least he provided resistance and had some effect defensively. Chol was extremely disappointing. Same desire and concentration issues he's always had.

Thought he was okay. Competed well in the ruck but probably doesn’t give us enough around the ground. That said I thought Chol was ineffectual tonight and not sure he has the intensity in his game for finals.

That said I think one of them needs to support Nank when he’s back. Interesting decision ahead.

Got involved in the play more than any game he has played IMO and didn't look completely silly. His tap work also looked pretty crafty. Good signs.

I thought he was useless and no chance, but in the 2 months he has genuine presence in the ruck.
How about the goals... bonus
If he can improve his tank, we might have the best ruckman under 150k in the comp.

Ok we know Gawn is clearly a better ruckman than Soldo but a big wrap to Soldo for his effort and never die attitude. Gawn only won the hit outs to advantage against Soldo 8 to 5 but Soldo well and truly beat him in clearances 5 to 1 and pressure act points 44 to a paltry 18 despite 24% less game time. With that attitude he deserves to keep his spot.

Soldo consistently does a bit of everything around the ground. He goes back to take a mark, hits the scoreboard up forward, tackles hard, blocks and bumps, handballs off well to maintain a possession chain.

He just needs to do everything more frequently, which is very possible.

Happy with Soldo’s development.

What does he need to add to his game to play alongside Nank this year?

I think we need to see him alongside Nank for the last 3 games. Soldo just keeps improving every week.

Nank is underrated both behind the ball and up forward imo, time we used him a bit more craftily.

Agree. Wanna see what nank can do around the ground without having to be first ruck

Soldo’s good at getting those holding frees in the ruck. There was the one last week against Grundy, and he got 2 last night.
