Dead on. Nank is decent around the ground, but his ruck opponent is routinely BOG.

Routinely? Care to name the routine examples? Nanks played 8 games before he was injured this year. The only two that could have been argued BOG were Grundy (great game) and Gawn (nah not really).
I would love for someone to compare the stats for this year comparing Nank v Soldo. In particular hit outs, hit outs to advantages, clearances etc etc. Soldo is a definitely a keeper and will get heaps better the more he plays

Nanks rucked against Phillips, Grundy, Mumford, Lycett, Sinclair, Gawn
Soldo rucked against Ceglar, Goldstein, Stanley, Marshall, Witts, Simpson, Lycett

I'm not sold on Soldo yet. 2 disposals in the 1st half. If he could consistently produce 2nd half performance then I start getting interested but 7.9 disposals a game doesn't cut it as a ruckman anymore. Needs to impact a lot more not just tap ruck. This is the first game where he' probably halved the contest but Lycett did still have 18 disposals and 5 clearances but I'd say Soldo was slightly more influential overall. Soldo was smashed previous weeks by his opponents. One half of a game doesn't change my opinion on where he's realistically at at the moment.

When he got the goal from the rubbish ruck free, my Collingwood mate went off his nut: "That's not a free!"

"Which one?" I asked. "That one or the three identical ones Grundy got in your forward line?"

Soldo's improvement has to be in part having a good run in the firsts. Not sure he will ever be a great ruck but he has been more than serviceable these last few matches

Good game big fella. Just stop holding on in the ruck contest. The green morons will ping you most times as you don’t have the reputation of Grundy, Gawn or Nic Nat.

Was fabulous tonight .. beat Grundy .. he had stepped up to the plate and done his job well .. full credit due

Nank is the better player overall but Soldo helps our mids play better

Nullified is the right word & a good one at that.
Soldo did better against the game's best ruckman than Nankervis ever has.
Invaluable performance from him tonight.

As Dimma loves to say “credit where credits due” Soldo is playing solid footy and at this rate is in Nank’s way at a bad time considering the finals isn’t far away

Not sure he beat Grundy (Grundy is very very good) but he made it a genuine contest and that is invaluable, Soldo did very well tonight.

Sorry if I’m repeating myself , however ,though I don’t think the big lug will ever be a superstar I think his going to fit very nicely into that back ups back up ruck on the list, meaning he’ll never demand big money and will be ultra competitive as a ruck when and if needed. Also been as big as he is his going to continue to be a beauty for the kids in the vfl .

Our ruck stocks now look reasonably well placed going forward , CCJ imho is very special

I thought he was brilliant last night, especially early. Mostly just nullified Grundy (a feat in and of itself), but actually dominated him at times.

How good is he with his feet? He dribbled Grundy twice? Once on the wing, and once for a big clearance out of the centre.

He moves like he's swimming through tar, but he's got better vision than I realised. I'd call him slow twitch, but twitch is an exaggeration. He kinda moves in this big, slow, rolling way, but with the inevitable momentum and direction of a steam train. I don't know any ruck in the league who would be comfortable going up against him.

Hate that footy is a bloody meat market. .... but the boy has a little bit of currency.
On his sidekick...... heard Lackability Lloyd say other clubs should be looking at him closely.
