ROFL. It was wet and that brought Grundy back to Soldo's level. Nank all day everyday, but Soldo's improved to the point where he's a solid competitor to pull out of the cupboard when required.
Some of his possessions in contested situations were sublime. Probably come from his bag of basketball tricks.
Classic ruck doofus. The jury is out on the value of winning hit outs but he wins plenty. Has a big body and reasonable ruck craft, so ruck superstars like Grundy have to use up most of their energy trying to push him off the ball, usually in vain. Leaves them nothing in the tank to do the superstar stuff like being an extra midfielder.
I’d play him against Gawn too. For exactly the same reasons he was worth a shot against Grundy.
We are in a good place with rucks all of a sudden. Soldo is good in the guts, Chol is athletic and leapy, causing problems in the middle and can play up forward. Nank must be spitting chips and will probably come back and hurt people to stay in the team. CCJ is very classy.
For once, we look ok in this area.

Can't remember Soldo ever getting more disposals than his opposing ruckman either, particularly one being talked about as a potential Brownlow medallist. Truly a glorious night for Soldo. Did his job.

Yep. Combination of two entirely different ruck types who are both playing competently and gelling well is starting to *smile* with opposition ruck set ups. Handy situation to be in with the big Nank attack afforded all the time he needs to get back into form n fitness.
Get back to us when Nank can actually do a ruckmans job - win the hitouts.

A ruckman’s job is to help the team win a premiership, you can ask Shaun Grigg about that.

) but it gets a bit tiring the crap Soldo cops. Even Beet last night asking him if he goes out next week for Nank....

But Nancy's work around the ground and his ability to contest stoppages at ground level have him as our #1 ruckman when fit.

The guy has improved as a result of senior exposure. Nullified lycett and grundy - pretty fair effort.
