Ivan Soldo

He plays the same way every time I see him. Slow & clumsy and not real good.

He's very young for a ruckman but geez he'd want to improve a lot.
 
Right now, totally adequate back up.

But still has heaps of improvement in him.

Improved tremendously.

Really? Statistically Preuss figures were much better. But how can a ruckman go throughout a game without even one mark. Is competitive in hit-outs but a massive liabity around the ground. Can't carry him.
 
Showed improvement from last year but can't hide is slowness and footy smarts. Balta is a different matter on today's showing. An undersized ruck but great leap and footy smarts is the 2nd ruck we need until CCJ comes along in 2020
 
I can see clubs panicking about the new rule and going out and buying/playing a Preuss type when meanwhile we bring out hybrids like Balta and make out like bandits.

We trialled quite a few spare change rucks in the interclub, even Astbury and Moore.

Riewoldt can even do some F50 taps with Lynch waiting in the square and Balta raedy to intercept the rushed kick going the other way.

Soldo is really only going to be useful if Nank goes down or needs a week off. Even then, CuJo is coming along.

You only play 2 rucks if they are both quality players.

The ruckmen who will stand out are the mobile ones, Nat Nat, Grundy, Martin, Gawn.
If we had Ottens we would be guaranteed our 12th flag
 
Reckon if we'd traded a mid who'd been 2nd & 4th in our b&f for Preuss, we'd be disappointed in Preuss.

Soldo's pretty one-dimensional but I didn't think he was bad at the contest. Like others, reckon it has to be either/or with Nank.

Soldo doesn’t know the game. He doesn’t read the game. Not to take a single mark is a huge issue.
He is miles away.
We should’ve convinced Stef Martin to leave Brisbane.

Preuss was awful. Not the player to trade for.

Agree on both counts. Soldo was better than Preuss, but Pruess is built like a tree and moves like one. I hope Melbourne plays him every week.
 
Preuss is just a log , Tall long arms and strong and gets the hit out but moves around like the titanic

Soldo is very similar and for me both are not the way ruckman will be in the future

Balta / CCJ / Chol are the types that will be more the way we should be heading


Soldo is break glass type only
