Massive overreaction after one game... don’t sell Meese short as an opponent either. He’s an absolute gun. If he was a couple of cms taller, he’d have been on an AFL for 10+ years.

Actually losing the VFL final works to our AFL advantage. Will give Butler a chance at a full game next Saturday and then be available for Pre Lim selection the following week. This assumes we beat Hawthorn :D

Its a good point. Continuity and match fitness in the seconds playing every week, hopefully for the next 3 weeks.

If we had of beaten Willy, garthy and lloydy could have gone 3 weeks without playing, which would be sh!t for our 23 and 24th men.

its is advantageous for our tilt.

Was it by design we lost....

There was certainly buy-in from the umpires if we did take a dive 8-

and was one of the most disciplined, team games ever played by big ivan

you'de probably drop Silvestro, CEllis and Balta for not putting the team first too.

Is he really?

I think other than around the ground improvement he needs to improve his agility and speed.

I really hope he is an option as this is one of our weaknesses to support Nank!

I think so. Was one of our best in the intraclub IMO.

Fantastic, up against Nank?

I always think preseason form is a dangerous guide as the guns like Dusty tend to hold back a little although I know Cotchy got leather poisoning from all accounts!

Yes he sure is, Jack. A lot of fans on PRE want to write him off and don't rate him. But I saw the intraclub (1st half) and believe he is improving too - in all respects.

Have his critics noticed how big some of the oppo rucks really are e.g. the 'Dees' with Gawn at about 208 cm. They just picked up Preuss at 206 cm from Norf (really puzzling decision by lolNorf here IMO). All these guys with any maturity are, of course, well over 100 kg. It's a big ask for Nank to continually match up with these giants alone at 199 cm.

And if a team like the Dees play both, same for several other sides with two or more giants such as Pies and Cats et al, to take advantage of the new ruck and other rule changes, it could be a tactical error.

Soldo is a true giant who can match up on these guys when ready. As you state - still only 22. He's getting close ... and not getting any smaller.

A very good question & to be fair, no.
It seemed he was mainly matched up against Balta.
CCJ went up against Nank for the most part. Chol too had a bit of time in the ruck.
That said it was Soldo's work around the ground that really impressed me. He's really learnt the game & his skills are getting very good.

Thanks for your updates mate.

Funny enough I see something in Soldo, if he had more agility and speed he would be fantastic, I really hope he has scope for improvement there.

I've got high hopes for Ivan, he's only been playing the game for 4 years. He's a good mark has got an ok leap on him which is a bonus for a big guy.
I thought he more than held his own against Witts from the Gold Coast last year, who had the third most hit outs for the season.
