Witts had similar stats.

Soldo did things in yesterday's game he would've done 12 months ago. the improvement was above what I expected.

Probably will never be a starring ruck as he is still learning the game but showing improvement from last year. Right now we can't expect more from our current No 2 ruck. Alternatives are a season away

Did a good job standing in for Nani.
Just a ruckman at the moment and needs more experience at AFL level to improve.

Same, he's now a suitable back up ruck. The body shape was vastly improved, the skills below the knees were very good and he will have a larger scope for improvement considering how little footy he has player. Will be 23 all of next season. Look at the bloke he played against yesterday, Witts is 26 next month. In three years, I expect Soldo to be around that level. Set and forget stuff.

He’s a doofus ruckman but at least he is big, strong and willing. That is exactly the type of doofus ruckman that can be valuable.

Agreed scoop

He did very well against Witts who has been having a very good year, Soldo being a late comer to afl has done well in 3 years to get to where he is and is getting close to being a legitimate option for backup if Nank gets injured but i dont see him being the type of ruckman that will ever be the #1 ruck in any team

Grundy , Gawn , Goldstein , Martin are all beasts around the ground and add so much more than just A grade ruckwork

Nank was a Premiership ruckman at 23.

Yeah, as others have said, never going to be a superstar. But I think will be serviceable and hold his own at AFL level. A big unit who offers something at the contest, but never going to be Nank like in the ground skills or running department.

Anyone know, what's his marking like? Can he be rested as a tall target up forward, or a loose extra marking player in defense late in matches? Or is that asking a bit much?

I think big Ivvy 2 did pretty well, as has been said before he's only been playing footy for 3 years, so has a lot to learn still. He's got a couple of good mentors in Ivvy #1 & Nank, if he keeps developing the way he's been doing in the last 12 months, he could very well finish up a pretty good player.
Keep in mind that most big men take until their mid 20s to show their best. He started from behind the 8 ball & imo is coming along pretty well. He's a far better prospect at this stage than Hampster was at any stage. He can take a pretty good grab, is aggressive, a good tap ruckman, looks after the smaller players & his kicking is improving. Give him a few more years & he could be very handy.

Basketball background still there with some reluctance not to play with a little more physicality. I think the commentators where saying something along the same lines wanting to see him raise his knee a little more at center bounces. Only 22, wont be a star, solid 3rd sting backup ruck.

Good coaches corner segment of the club website highlighting Ivvy Jnr's game.
I barely noticed him out there. That's a very good thing. He slipped right in.
Very solid game from Soldo. Improvement continues..

haven't seen the segment but I thought he was solid. Really noticed that he is moving a lot better. Who is our running coach? He's good whoever he is.

That coaches corner piece was screaming to be called "My Cousin Ivvy"
