Ivan Soldo

Soldo straight swap for Georgiades. Played similar number of games. Both coming off knee reco’s, both have surprisingly similar stats except for goals and hitouts where their individual area of expertise lies.
Different age of course, but Soldo has maturity. If they see themselves in the premiership window, which I think they do, they need that maturity.
We would make off like bandits if we could pull that off. :p

A few mentioning Marshall in any potential Soldo trade , would be nice but a bit far fetched.

He would be their most un touchable out of all their key forwards
Yep unless in the unlikely event he wants to go back to Vic... You'd think if he went as a rfa next year they'd get close to a first pick compensation if it came to that.

Let's not forget by reports we tried to swap Soldo to GWS (his home state is ACT) last season and he refused to leave. If he did so then you would assume he will refuse to do so again if offered another chance to move.

I understood he was willing and on his way until GWS changed its mind.

I thought both Soldo & Ralphsmith weren't willing to move. A shame really as it probably would have helped strengthen our draft hand this year.

I reckon Hugo in particular would have changed his mind now as he's not in our best 22 IMO, especially now with the emergence of Brown and Banks and with Shorty moving back. I reckon he will be open for a move where he might get more AFL time.

Just as a guess if Soldo does go we'll grab one of Flynn or Pruess for a nothing pick as a back up ruckman

I reckon Flynn might have a few suiters, but yeah they are probably decent enough insurance ruckmen, especially Preuss who will be cheap. Other options were if he went to Port, maybe as part of the trade we got Hayes back, he's obviously not regarded as a number 1 ruck, and they may want to bring in Soldo and Sweet which pushes him further down. I read an article that suggested Hayes will be moved on. I'd expect him to be relatively cheap, maybe a F4 pick.

Well said Gray. I'm not sure where that rumour has come from but Poort aren't giving him away any time soon.

Agree. But the thought process is right. Dixon, Marshall, Georgiades and Lord. Four best 22 KPFs. Dixon is almost done but surely they could part with another for Soldo.

Cal Twomey reporting that Soldo is keen to move to Port but Richmond are reluctant to trade him.

12 months ago, *smile* 2 months ago I would have jumped at the chance. But not now.

Plus Port have zero trade currency for what would be classified as a decent offer. Port have picks 37 & 43.

Take both their picks and maybe some half useful disillusioned Victorian and try to turn some of those picks into higher picks.
