Ivan Maric

Can someone confirm if his contract finishes at the end of this year?
If so, this ankle could be a blessing in disguise as it should allow us to extend him on a lower value or performance/games based contract (if he eventually does get it right) meaning we could keep much needed cap space for the young guns. And the injury could likely scare off other clubs looking to poach him if we tried to keep the dollars on the contract down. It creates a great opportunity for Griff as well to grow his game and get playing time alongside Hampson.

If Maric needs an ankle operation, get it done!

Hope the medical staff get Ivan in for his ankle operation ASAP, so there is a chance of him being a fit option come September.

Hampson, Stephenson & Griffiths become good ruck options in Maric's absence.

agree - no use flogging him now - a fresh and fit Maric come August would be an amazing luxury to have

Agree, YOTT.
If the big man can get his body right and play himself into some form in the lead-up to September then he will be a wonderful addition to the team come finals time.

Round 8,9, 10 are pretty easy so hopefully he's back for Round 11 v Essendon.
Does this we mean we can upgrade three rookies now?

Stepho Thomas & Miles

I think you'll find it's 6-8 as from now, so by my calculations that will mean a round 2-4 return.

We are still 3 weeks from R1, so Ivy could be back by R4. Won't be placed on long-term injury list unless something goes awry with the recovery/rehab.

Once again it looks like the club knew exactly what they were doing when they signed up the HamperVan on the first day of the trade period. Much like when we traded for iVan in the first place.

Get well soon iVan.

Could be fit by Round 4 or 5. Probably give him a week in the 2's too, so I'll take a stab and say round 6 return to the seniors for big ivvy.

There is no need to rush the Big Man in any way.
The Club have the luxury of easing him back in through the VFL team and with good rehab management can have him cherry ripe for the all-important second half of the season.

Was a shadow of himself in 2013, hopefully he runs out in 2014 with he groins and ankle issues behind him. Need a few breaks to get a decent run of football.

yeah sorry, you're right - hopefully he'll be ok for round 3 against the doggies.
Jackson and grimes are playing this Friday in a VFL scratch match. No details.

Thanks to exceptional recruiting and tall development, this is a blessing rather than a curse. Wear the Kid gloves with Evarn I say and bring a fresh, firing beast back in about round 15 for a tilt at September. No small part of Brisbane 3 flags in 3 years strategy.
