Ivan Maric

Bit flummoxed that folk, with no knowledge of the $ involved, think this is bad news. Ivvy is massive for your team and our future. Personally glad that he's on board.

X2 think his earned a bit of good will, was massively under paid first 30 odd games

yeah. I'd assume there would be performance aspects.

I think it was a great call to get it done now. With Maric being out injured and with Hampson and Griffths showing that they can also ruck it has reduced his bargaining power somewhat and we hopefully will get him unders again.

Also with Maric knowing he has another two years he can look after his body make sure he comes back 100%, rather than pushing himself over the edge again to earn another decent contract.

Yeah great call. Another 2 more years of footing the physio bills.

Unfortunately Ivan's body is shot and the rush to offer him a 2 year extension when we simply let White walk out the door is bloody ludicrous.

What is happening to this club. Were looking like they were making all the right moves 2-3 years ago and now are starting to fall back into the Tiges of old.

Honestly cannot understand some of the decisions being made lately. ???

I haven't got a problem with it, he is a warrior, we need more players with his spirit at the club.
Hampson has been a good pick up, but hasn't been the most durable player during his career so far.

Injuries cruel seasons. We had a good run last year. We lose Maric, Delidio, Vlos and Rance, probably all in the first 12 picked and it makes a difference. Hopefully we get them back.

Signed a 2 year contract exstension

It's not as if other clubs were desperately after him. How do they justify a two year deal so early in the season considering his coping capacity is diminishing considering age factor and the speed of the game. Flabbergasted!

x 2. Unless we got a bargain deal we should've waited until end of the season.

Maybe because we ran him into the ground we owe him this

Not too fussed. He makes a decent backup for when The Griffin is injured.

Agree.
Foley 2 yrs extra
King 1yr extra
Grigg 2yrs
Now Maric what is the rush??

Maric still listed as 3-4 weeks away. Having missed 4 weeks already, and being injured before the start of the season, why is it that he was not put on the LTIL? That's for an 8 week injury is it not?

Yes, I'm more interested in that bit of mismanagement than signing him for two more years. He and Hampson will make quite a formidable ruck duo when they're playing together.

I fear by the time they get together it will be too late. Hampson has had knee problems in the past he is not robust.

Boy are we missing this bloke. Our midfielders stand taller when Maric is out on the field with them. His leadership and aggression is sorely missed.
