Ivan is shorter than the taller rucks and even "shorter" when he can't jump
The taller rucks give their mid field first use and some cheap possessions and scoring shots
Fit Ivan is competitive, worn out Ivan isn't
Vickery is 95 kg and looks too light to bang on all day with the big rucks
We just need a mobile tall monster to add into the mix, 205 plus with long arms please

People saying that Maric was *smile* in the final have rocks in there heads.
He was up against 2 quality ruckman, without any support.( Yes I mean having vickery in the ruck.)
He played his heart out in that game. In the 2nd half the usual suspects disappeared but Maric played to the last second of the game.
If super coach knew what he was doing, he should've at least had big O on the bench

Big O is 31 and has not played AFL football because he is flimsy. Warnock is a leper but he had his GF against us.
It's not about Cotchin or Deledio who won or got square. Maric got it clean in the colon. In how many games in 2013 did Gibbs get twelve clearances?

Next year, if we play Carlton in the first final (they won't go any further) we should get . . . Damien Oliver to ruck for us - at least he can be criticised. (But only for trying too hard.)

Surely Maric did enough to have a fighting draw to allow our glamours to win the game? Any chance of some of our well paid top 3 draftees showing up to play for 4 quarters against Carlton? Any chance one of them might stop being humiliated by Gibbs?

Irrespective of those important and granted stats, El Colon, Maric got it clean in the second half of our only final ever. Not to exaggerate.

Look Maric isn't a match winner, but he's a 6.5-7 out of 10 ruck, you put Maric in Hawthorn they win the flag still. The cost of getting to an 8 is a first round pick, not worth it. Maybe we can get another 6 out of 10 cheaply and they can tag team, allow Maric to nurse another two good season out of his body.
Or to put things in your terms. Name one person on the Richmond team that could share a cell with Maric and not wind up making the beds?

Maric slowed dramatically the last 6 weeks of 2012. And not once in 2013 did he look the 2012 version.
I agree with Jack, Ivan got destroyed at the centre bounces in that final.

Heh heh. Rucks #1 and #2 were not good in that test. Maybe they'll improve. But IMO the panel should make a call on at least one of them.

a better ruck would make us a better side, no doubt. but at what cost?
we won games when Maric was beaten this year, such as the Weagles. The hawks showed in the GF you can win whilst getting beat easy in the ruck.
it is widely acknowledged the 2 best rucks going around this year played for the doggies and the roos.
would i be happy picking up a good ruck as a FA? yes.
as a trade for a late pick? yes
for a 1st/2nd round pick? mmmm, they would have to be very good IMO.
