Ivan Maric

I notice in the AFL rankings Ivan ranks 4th overall amongst ruckmen. Just shows how many people around here have no idea what they are talking about.

The same rankings that have Cyril Rioli as the 9th best player in the league.

Yeah, perhaps not the best judge of a season.

Perhaps not, but I will take it any day over anonymous Internet forum posters taking pot shots from afar.

I don't think he is. Both Maric and Vickery have very good tap to advantage figures percentage-wise. I pay special attention to this when reading the Herald Sun stats every week. Admitedly didn't see them for this week.

i think Marics hit outs to advantage were average, maybe around 20%, but I think O's were something like 46% which is high.
they had a report on the site that cannot be mentioned a couple of weeks ago and both Maric and TV were in the top 10 for hitouts to advantage percentage.

These are the same "brain surgeons" that didn't want Maric at tigerland in the first place. They had their hands forced last year when Maric was arguably one of if not the best ruckman last year with a spectacular season. He drops off a little this year and the knives are back out.

I think it was for effective hit outs or hit outs to advantage

I have effective hit out stats and he is not in the top 10, but maybe they have twisted the data somehow

Last time I checked Nic Naitanui was the number 1 ranked ruck and ranked 10 overall

After the season he has had, poor form and injuries, he's not even top 100.

Well done Ivan that second qtr was one of the best rucking displays l have seen for a long time. :clap
The big Eevan was def rucking n rolling, had a party going on in his pants n no-one from GWS was going anywhere near him. Was an awesome second qtr display.

He said in his talking tigers interview that all year his groin has been playing up and that after the west coast game he couldn't even get out of bed and had to roll out.

Reckon he's watching kickboxer right now.

Shards of glass on the fists ....

I have had similar over the last two years. Groins are a horrible thing. For me I could play but literally had no strength in my left leg so was always pushing off on my right and as a result lost power and speed. If someone went to my left I had no chance of catching them as I had to give up an extra step so I could push off on my right.

Worst injury I've had was a groin. Just as you think it's all good and you start to push it again, bang, there it goes.and without the wonders of modern day science, you could only go by how it feels.
