Ivan Maric

I don't think it's an easy task to find a good second ruckman. After all, Collingwood traded its first round pick for Cam Wood and Carlton used a high second rounder on Warnock. And with teams only selectring one pure ruck each week, no first-choice ruckman will move to a club with an established ruckman like Ivvy already there.

And just why should Stephenson play so much this year?
Derickx should be the first ruckman bought in to replace Maric.

I want a full demonstration in a game situation of why and how:
- The Recruiting department chose Derickx over Giles in 2010.
- The Coaches have developed Derickx fitness, skills and understanding of the game plan over two years to be better than the Big O after a couple of months.
- The Match Committee chose to push Derickx into senior selection over Browne and Graham in 2012 at Richmond despite Coburg's reluctance for his ruckwork.
- The List Committee chose to delist Browne and trade Graham leaving Derickx as the next ruck in line after Maric.
- The List Committee decided to keep Derickx on the list and miss out on a replacement like Hannath.

I am sick of these type of decisions being hidden away where feral supporters can ignore them.

so you dont want Derrickx to play ahead of OS cos he is better, you want him to play to show you a few things? seems a flawed selection method. (i think also you are ignoring the fact that Derrickx is not a No1 ruck. he is a FP/BP ruck.)

They should write that all out 500 times as well. While sitting in a room full of chook *smile*.

Yep. Its very tricky on a few fronts. Ivan, TV, O, and X. Its not a disaster by any means

18 disposals and 2 goals today from the big fella. Covered an enormous amount of ground.

Much better game, more confidence. Still not one-grabbing his marks and strutting around with that arrogance he had last year. On the up though.

If you don't pick slightly injured ruckman you might as well ask them to retire at 26.

very true but oren would of done the job on minson and big ivvy would had nice rest

With apologies to Dusty and Cotch who were brilliant, I thought big Ivan was our most important player tonight.
He pantsed Minson, especially round the ground.

good signes yesterday.... need to rest Maric thread can take a rest.

Also, probably the best ruck work I have seen Vicvkey do in yellow and black. Reminds me of a young Benny Gale, who really didnt become a recognised ruckman till his late 20's.

Struggling big time at the minute, gets pushed around to easy out jumped in the ruck and looks to be struggling to run. Maybe his groin isn't right still?

We seriously need an athletic ruck man Ivan has lost his effect unfortunately
