Needs back up and not vickery. Was very very good for 3 qtrs

Agree.
Thought he ran out of puff in the last Q and was a major factor in the Carlton comeback.
Could we risk Orren as the sub to come on on the last Q ?

Just play another ruckman. I've never really rated ruckman til I saw maric last year.
It would be good to see the big O and maric team up.

Orren is a pure ruckman.
If in the 21, Orren would need to spend a lot of time on the pine just waiting to give Maric a spell.
Not versatile enough to lose a lose a midfielder in the rotation for.

looked proppy at the end, like some-one carrying a groin injury. hope it's all fine. if there's any doubt bring in the big O.

Which leads to the conclusion that I just cannot see the Big O in the side while Maric is out there. I think Big O is purely a backup in case Maric goes down.

We need Vickers, or another player (dare I say Derickx) to step up into the role of 2nd ruckman.

MARIC WAS dreadful in the last quater alright..that dropped mark in their goal square..and kruezer ran wild and nearly won the game for the blues...ivan ran out of puff...either vickery rucks a lot more whilst ivan rests down foward of big o comes in

Vickery is the obvious choice. I think as the season goes on Vickery will spend more time in the ruck.

This was one of my major concerns before we drafted him, he's got limited versatility and is also the wrong side of 30. A better strategy would have been to pick up another second ruck and to play Vickery as first ruck if Maric went down. As it stands now, if Vickery goes down, we simply don't have a replacement and may be forced to play Muscles as second ruck.

I was very concerned at his gait leaving the ground. He was waddling. I hope it was not his groin causing discomfort. He is comfortably the most important in this team.

Playing injured. The end to end power running of last season is a long way off. Not fit.

Leysy expects the Big O to play more than we expect this year.

Ivan has lost a bit of confidence by the look of it his butter fingers have made him look bad. He has got into position ok and hopefully he gets sticky hands quickly as O is not someone we wnat to call on that's for sure.

And just why should Stephenson play so much this year?
Derickx should be the first ruckman bought in to replace Maric.

I want a full demonstration in a game situation of why and how:
- The Recruiting department chose Derickx over Giles in 2010.
- The Coaches have developed Derickx fitness, skills and understanding of the game plan over two years to be better than the Big O after a couple of months.
- The Match Committee chose to push Derickx into senior selection over Browne and Graham in 2012 at Richmond despite Coburg's reluctance for his ruckwork.
- The List Committee chose to delist Browne and trade Graham leaving Derickx as the next ruck in line after Maric.
- The List Committee decided to keep Derickx on the list and miss out on a replacement like Hannath.

I am sick of these type of decisions being hidden away where feral supporters can ignore them.
