I doubt anyone in the football world would have predicted the major impact he's made, based on his form this year, you'd have to even ask whether the Crows made the wrong call in their choice of first ruck.

God bless the Crows, they have served us very well at the trade table.

God bless the crows? you alright mate :hihi

I was on the record as saying we needed to keep our second rounder and for good reason. Perhaps in hindsight it was a good thing not to roll the dice with the PSD as Port seemed to break the unwritten rule of allowing players to join their club of choice.

They liked Ivan too. I wasn't all in on the trade either, but in hindsight it was brilliant. He has transformed our midfield.

Well done Big Ivan! Would be in our top 3 best players so far. I would like to toot my own horn and find the posts I made a few weeks before trade week saying this was a guy we should target but I won't, just glad we FINALLY have a semi-decent ruckman for a change.

Only concern is he has played the majority of the pre season and H&A games so far as the main ruckman and if he doesnt get some help he might struggle towards the back half of the season.

After being cured of my Tamblingitus, the Crows are up there with Mother Teresa.

An unexpected revelation. I thought his marking in awkward conditions with a greasy pill was superb today; either marked it , tapped it to advantage, or blocked to make space when the ball hit the deck. Is everything that Graham wasn't.

If nothing else, he just rams home what we have been missing for so long.

Thank god we finally have a ruckman.

Absolutely PP.
One of his pluses has been the fact that we have not been smashed this year by 10 goals plus by the top 4 teams.
He was very good today.

Extract from Mark Stevens' article in the Hun............he's a funny man that Dimma. ;D

1. WINNERS are grinners and Richmond coach Damien Hardwick could afford to crack a gag after the game.
Asked about boom recruit Ivan Maric, he said: "He's been a star. He's a high-calibre person and what he's delivering on field is high calibre. There's still areas of his game he can work on, mainly his hair, but other than that we move on."

You gotta love dimma. As a coach he is obviously loved, and perfects the line between being a good coach and a mate/mentor to his players.

Agreed, thought The Mullet was BOG today, but let's not get too carried away. My mum on stilts could've out-rucked Renouf (a dud of a ruckman if ever I've seen one), and Stewart is to rucking what Stephen Milne is to likeability. What I really enjoyed was Maric's reading of the play when he dropped back taking marks inside our defensive 50 and his general disposal effectiveness. Either by hand or foot he finds targets, which really enhances his value to the team. While his ruckwork is honest at best, it's his workrate, hardness and obvious leadership qualities that are just fantastic for this young side. LYW big man. :clap
