Ivan Maric

Good call TOT70, I really hope you are right.

At this stage it looks like we have at least got a competent ruckmen, best case is we have got the next Jolly.

Do you mean an easier timer than Gus has given them?

I hope you're not conceding here Baloo.

Conceding what ? I've never not wanted any RFC player to play at an elite level. All Julius has to do is raise the bar high enough to give our mids a fighting chance. The Bus will then take us even higher.

There would be nothing better for this club to have 5 senior ruckman all performing well at AFL level. We keep who we need and trade one or two for overs as most ruckmen tend to get.

Gotta love a big bloke with a mullet who smashes into people all game.

Couldn't quite see this bloke doing it: http://www.statzone.com.au/images/afl/players/ivan-maric.jpg

that's the guy from revenge of the nerds.

Ivan is much bigger and more aggressive than he was at the crows.

I like the way he times his jumps so his peak jump eight and the ball height bounce are sorta almost at the same height.
He's not afraid to make body contact and importantly keeps his eye on the ball.
Unlike the Gus and Simmo who jumped early and had already landed before the ball started to descend.

How good was it watching a game when the ball goes down the throat of Cotch or Martin and they just bang it into the forward line. Throw in Lids and they'll all be fighting over the tap-outs! The backline is still a work in progress, but Post was pretty good as was Grimes and if Maric means we win it out of the centre more often and that will give the guys down back a chop-out after it was constantly getting pumped in by the opposition last year, then we'll be in a better position to win more games :clap

Itch is doing well but let's hope that X is learning and developing well for support. We can't expect Itch to do everything all season.

Makes a massive difference to the team.

Hopefully Graham, Browne and Derrickx have a good year playing VFL because probably 2 of them will be gone at years end and some trade value will be a bonus.

I wasn't sold when we picked him up, but he is certainly an improvement on what we had. Been impressed with him so far.

Its not only the tap outs he does well, he supports down back like benny gale used to do, lays shepards too, takes veryyyyy strong marks and throws his weight around cannot remember the last time we had a ruckman like that....
