Likely to announce his retirement in the coming weeks.
bodies done.

Have heard differently from a source close to him a few weeks back. Still looking to continue next year either with us or another club.

Unless he's changed his mind in the meantime or he's put the feelers out and received no interest.

I would think it unlikely that any other AFL club would select Maric.
Unfortunately, he no longer has much of an upside to his performances on the field.
Always admired but the game has passed him by.

According to TazT, played well in VFL win - "Despite reports to the contrary , Ivvy can still jump & nearly took MOTY & was influencial in the ruck againt a monster in Sikora ??" (his spelling - from VFL page).

So maybe don't write him off just yet. It's worth noting that he wasn't great against PA but it was his missed marks were the problem IMO. Held his own against Trengove in ruck contests. Trengove subsequently embarrassed Goldstein not long after.

The lack of pace is probably the killer, but maybe can stay as a handy back-up and mentor to Soldo and Chol on a low 1-yr contract? All depends on whether the club grabs another competent ruckman from somewhere.

Yet the RFC club site says he sat out the latter part of the game with a back injury. Soldo took his place in the ruck and did well.

It said Maric injured his back 'just before three-quarter time,' so sat out the last Q when Soldo took over. So must have played well for 3Qs.

Apparently on the move end of year.
1 or 2 clubs circling for Maric as a backup ruck and possible coaching role

Good luck to Ivan.

Rookie list, coaching role & insurance policy if Hampson falls apart.
Not really sure where we turn to if Hampson breaks down.

I'd rather continue giving Griffiths the opportunities in the ruck.
I'm with you there. No matter what the big fellas past it, if we want Ivy in a coaching role, let him go learn somewhere else for a year an then get him back.
